Fantasy News

  • Mike Conley
    PG, Utah Jazz

Mike Conley was back in action on Friday and lit up the Nuggets with 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting in a Game 3 victory.

Conley went 7-for-8 from behind the arc and also added four dimes and a steal. Last postseason we saw Fred VanVleet go supernova after welcoming a son to the world, and maybe this year is Conley's turn. He was outstanding in this game and because the Jazz thumped Denver so handily, only needed 25 minutes to post this huge line. Juwan Morgan, who had started in Conley's place in the first two games, played 22 minutes off the bench for one point, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.

    PF, Utah Jazz

Juwan Morgan replaced Mike Conley (personal) in the starting lineup on Monday, managing just three points on 1-of-6 shooting to go with seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 25 minutes.

Morgan was a surprise choice to replace Conley in the opening five, likely as a result of the coaching staff wanting to keep Jordan Clarkson running with the second unit. Despite starting, Morgan was not on the floor to close the game and it was both Clarkson and Georges Niang picking up the bulk of the minutes.

Juwan Morgan (PF) will get a surprise spot start in place of Mike Conley for Game 1 vs. the Nuggets on Monday.

Morgan has averaged minutes in the single digits this season, so this news comes as a big surprise. This move is likely intended to counter the Nuggets' size and compete with their offensive rebounding. Morgan should be an inexpensive flier in DFS today.

Juwan Morgan (right knee soreness) will not play in Monday's game vs. the Mavericks.

He was probable to play originally but he's since been downgraded, which doesn't bode well for his knee injury. He's been at the end of the Jazz's rotation in the bubble but he's not worth owning as of now.

Juwan Morgan (right knee soreness) is probable to play on Monday.

Morgan suffered a scary looking right knee injury on Friday so this is great news. He's been seeing minutes at the end of Utah's rotation in the bubble, but not enough to warrant serious fantasy consideration.

Juwan Morgan (right knee soreness) will not play Saturday.

With four starters out, Juwan Morgan played a career-high 25 minutes in Friday's game, putting up four points, five rebounds, three assists and a triple. He left the game in the fourth quarter with the knee injury but luckily MRI results came back clean. He is unlikely to be part of the rotation once the playoff start.

Juwan Morgan injured his knee while coming down with a rebound in the fourth quarter of Friday's contest with the Spurs and headed to the locker room.

Morgan is unlikely to come back into the game with only a couple minutes left. Morgan played 25 minutes before getting injured and scored four points to go with five rebounds and three assists. He is a depth piece for the Jazz that is unlikely to be relevant in fantasy circles except on nights where the team rests all of their starters. Stay tuned for updates in regards to his injury as we should learn more over the next day or so.
