  • Tristan Thompson
    C, Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs are have ruled Tristan Thompson (right groin soreness), John Henson (right groin strain) and Ante Zizic (left foot soreness) as out for Tuesday's game against the Celtics.

With the trio of big men sitting out, it could again be a lot of Kevin Love and Larry Nance Jr. tonight. It's worth noting that Jarell Martin is starting at C for the Cavs tonight.

  • Tristan Thompson
    C, Cleveland Cavaliers

Tristian Thompson has been having a strong camp and is expected to start at center next to Kevin Love accoring to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

It is worth noting that there have been conflicting reports coming out of local Cleveland reporting about who the presumed starter in the Cavs frontcourt is set to be. Larry Nance Jr. has recieved similar buzz of becoming a starter this year, justified by his youthful energy on defense and new coach John Beilein's willingness to expiriment with his new roster. If Thompson continues to play well this preseason then those plans to start Nance Jr. may be harder to exicute, making this a position battle worth monitoring in the ramp up to the NBA season.

    PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance Jr. had 15 efficient points off the bench (5-for-8 FGs, 1-for-3 threes, 4-for-4 FTs), adding three boards, two dimes and one steal in 20 minutes.

Nance may not be a starter this season, but he doesn't need many more minutes than this to be a reliable mid-round fantasy pick. If you need steals from a big man, it doesn't get any better than Nance.

    PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance (illness) missed Cavs practice on Tuesday.

This won't have any impact on his opening day availability as Nance should be over the illness in a few days. Nance is expected to start at PF while Kevin Love moves to C and is trending up in fantasy drafts.

  • Larry Nance Jr.
    PF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance Jr. is the presumed favorite to start at PF heading into training camp according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

Fedor went on to speculate that Nance Jr. could see a lot of time at the four while Kevin Love starts at center and Tristan Thompson and John Henson compete for back up minutes behind those two. Any uptick in playing time would be a huge boost to the per-minute dynamo that Nance Jr is, and a starting role with a new coaching staff bodes well for that. He's trending in the right direction.

On Wednesday morning Larry Nance Jr. wrote on Twitter, "Just got a chance to read some of these articles about Rob Pelinka supposedly promising me I’d stay in LA.. Wanted to clear the air and say that is not the case. This league is a business and we all know it. Rob and I had and still have a great relationship."

Pelinka, among others, has been taking a lot of heat for the way things have transpired with the Lakers during the last year plus. While some of the news could be true, it is nice to hear from a player's own mouth that at least in his case, Pelinka isn't as cold-hearted as he is/was being made out to be.

Larry Nance Jr. tallied a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double in Tuesday's season finale loss to the Hornets.

Nance added six assists, one steal and two blocks in his 37 minutes of work. One of the lone bright spots that came from the Cavs this season, Nance will finish the year right around top-75 in 8-cat and top-60 in 9-cat formats. He takes a tiny hit in total value as he missed 15 games, but he was a reliable big that helped in rebounds, steals and field goal percentage, without killing you in any category.

    F, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance Jr. had a full line of 11 points, 10 boards, five assists, four blocks and a 3-pointer in Sunday's loss to the Spurs.

Nance was basically the only bright spot for the Cavs in what ended up being a 22-point loss. Nance started this one even with Kevin Love (shoulder) back, which is a positive sign for the last few games.

Larry Nance started against the Warriors on Friday night and came through with 13 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, three steals, a block and a 3-pointer in 32 minutes of action.

Hopefully Larry Drew keeps this up, though Kevin Love's shoulder injury might be making the decision for him. Whatever the reason, Nance is a must-start option going forward and will always be a fantasy stalwart as long as he's playing at least 24 mpg.

  • Kevin Love
    F/C, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Love (left shoulder soreness) will not play on Friday vs. the Warriors.

Fire up your shares of Larry Nance Jr. and Ante Zizic for a game that’ll have a lot of garbage time. It’s also worth noting that Tristan Thompson is no longer on the injury report.

Larry Nance Jr. doubled-doubled on Thursday with 11 points on 5-of-11 shooting to go with 16 rebounds, three assists and a 3-pointer.

It was only a matter of time until Nance got his due and it looks like this move should stick until the end of the season. He should be in all lineups going forward.

    F, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance Jr. scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting to go with 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals on Monday.

Nance filled it up across the board and is the most talented big on the roster outside of Kevin Love (shoulder), who sat this one out. It's likely that Love will sit more and even the rest of the season so Nance should be owned in all leagues.

    F, Cleveland Cavaliers

Larry Nance Jr. came off the bench on Saturday and logged 32 minutes, scoring five points on 2-of-9 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds to go with two dimes and a steal.

Nance came off the bench, but was still able to pull down double-digit boards while adding a steal. With Tristan Thompson back in the fray, he's not going to have as much leash as before but should still be held on to as the season finishes out.
