Lauri Markkanen, initially listed as doubtful with a left ankle sprain, said he'll warm up before Monday's game in an effort to play.

It's good that Markkanen is feeling better, so hopefully this minimizes any time he might miss. Thad Young's starting opportunity hangs in the balance, though we'd still call it unlikely that Markkanen overcomes a same-day doubtful tag, though he has officially been upgraded to questionable.

Lauri Markkanen is listed as doubtful for Monday's contest with the Mavs after suffering a left ankle sprain on Saturday.

Not a good sign at this point. The injury did not seem too extreme at the moment on Saturday, but a doubtful tag would indicate that this could go beyond a game or two for Markkanen. This makes Thaddeus Young a logical stream for Monday and perhaps further into the week.

Lauri Markkanen received more testing after having to leave Saturday's game against the Celtics, and has now been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.

His status for Chicago's next game on Monday is up in the air as we still don't have a timetable or the severity of the injury. Should he miss time Thaddeus Young would become a popular streaming option.

Lauri Markkanen scored 15 points (5-of-12) shooting in Saturday's loss to the Celtics but injured his leg in the fourth quarter, failing to return.

Markkanen got tangled up with the Celtics' Marcus Smart and appeared to injure his left foot. He was seen with the trainers stretching out his leg and it appeared that he was set to return in this close game. His injury status is worth keeping an eye on and if he has to miss any time teammate Thaddeus Young is the next man up.

  • Thaddeus Young
    PF, Chicago Bulls

Thaddeus Young scored 12 points (5-of-11) in Saturday's loss to the Celtics, chipping in two rebounds, three assists, one steal and a 3-pointer.

Young played 27 minutes off the bench in this one and saw an increase in minutes after a fourth quarter injury to teammate Lauri Markkanen. Young contributed nicely in this one register across all categories except for blocks. He will continue to provide late-round value and could provide a slight bump if Markkanen has to miss any time following his injury.

Lauri Markkanen limped off the court on Saturday after falling to the ground.

Markkanen got tangled with Marcus Smart and it appeared Smart landed on Markkanen's left foot. Thaddeus Young checked in for Markkanen and could produce late-round value if Markkanen misses time.

Lauri Markkanen was able to deliver 18 points, eight rebounds, a steal and four 3-pointers in Thursday's home loss.

Markkanen was mired in a lengthy slump but appears to have broken out of it, sitting with top-80/50 (8/9-cat) value in the last two weeks. Some steadying out would help fantasy GMs sleep a little better at night but nobody will be complaining about the lines that they expected to see all year long.

Lauri Markkanen continued his resurgence, making five threes as part of an 18-point (6-of-12 FGs), six-rebound, one-steal performance in 27 minutes on Monday.

Markkanen had a rough start to the season (after his amazing opener), but all of a sudden he's sitting at 48th/32nd (8-cat/9-cat) over the last month. His rebounds are still down significantly from last year and his percentages are way up lately. So, there's probably some regression to come in both directions. His frontcourt-mate, Wendell Carter Jr., had 10 points, 11 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 28 minutes.

Jim Boylen said that Lauri Markkanen is expected to play on Monday despite his illness.

Markkanen's presence should take some minutes away from Thaddeus Young. In addition to his usual offensive contributions, Markkanen has six blocks over his last five appearances.

Lauri Markkanen (illness) is being listed as questionable for Monday's game versus the Bucks.

Markkanen has been dealing with a bug for a few days now, but was able to suit up and play well during Saturday's game versus the Hawks. If Markkanen is unable to play expect Thaddeus Young to get some extended run.

Lauri Markkanen (illness) scored 25 points on 8-of-14 shooting in Saturday's 116-81 blowout win against the Hawks, adding four rebounds and an assist.

Markkanen led the Bulls' scoring charge in this game and provided very little else in terms of countable statistics. He shot the ball well and got yanked early as the Hawks gave up and put their own reserves in early. The points and efficiency were nice tonight though a few more rebounds and a block would have been nice. Regardless, look for him to continue to shot the ball well in the Bulls next game.

  • Zach LaVine
    PG, Chicago Bulls

Zach LaVine was solid in Saturday's win over the Hawks scoring 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting while chipping in seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and three 3PTs.

Lavine played well in this one and was pulled early in the blowout. In just 30 minutes he was able to contribute nicely across the board and even with teammate's Lauri Markkanen's scoring outburst tonight remains the Bull's primary scoring option.

Lauri Markkanen (illness) is being listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Hawks.

Ahead of Saturday's game vs. the Hawks, Lauri Markkanen missed practice on Friday with a stomach illness.

We will have to see if the stomach bug lands Markkanen on the injury report for tomorrow. Markkanen has been frustrating to own overall this season, and he recently dipped back down into one of his negative phases where he fails to be an active participant offensively. If you are in need of a 3-point shooting big man with an excellent free throw percentage this could be your opening to send an offer out. If he were to miss time Wendell Carter Jr. would see more touches and Thaddeus Young would receive more minutes.
