Jay King of The Athletic is hearing that Marcus Georges-Hunt is in Boston working out with the Celtics for the next few days.

Georges-Hunt last played in the NBA for the Wolves in the 2017-18 season. Last season Georges-Hunt was waived from the Celtics in mid-October and played nine games for the Red Claws. Georges-Hunt is a longshot to make the team and carries no fantasy relevance regardless of the outcome.

The Celtics have waived Marcus Georges-Hunt.

Georges-Hunt was added on October 1 and was always a longshot to make the squad. A decent end-of-roster player for Minnesota last season, teams with questions on the wing may start taking a look at MGH in the coming days.

Boston signed guard Marcus Georges-Hunt and waived Justin Bibbs Monday.

Adrian Wojnarowksi reported last week the deal was being finalized, but now it is official. Georges-Hunt is not relevant for fantasy purposes.

The Celtics have plans to take a close look at Marcus Georges-Hunt this week.

The free agent is already well-known to the organization after competing in the team’s 2016 training camp and later landing a roster spot with the Maine Red Claws, Boston’s minor league affiliate, where he averaged 15.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists during the 2016-17 season. The Celtics currently have 15 players on guaranteed contracts but Jabari Bird is facing legal trouble after being arrested this weekend for an alleged domestic violence incident.

The Wolves had Marcus Georges-Hunt, Rashad Vaughn and John Jenkins in for a workout.

It's a little surprising to see Georges-Hunt working out for the team he played with last season, as surely they know what he can bring after 42 games with Minnesota. The Wolves' end-of-bench options, whoever they end up being, won't be worth your attention in fantasy.

Free agent Marcus Georges-Hunt will work out for the Nuggets.

Georges-Hunt spent last season with Minnesota but wasn't a core piece of the rotation, and he wouldn't be one in Denver either. He'll make for a nice signing for any team that needs guard depth but MGH won't be looking at a major role.

The Wolves will not tender an offer to Marcus Georges-Hunt, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Georges-Hunt was at the end of Minnesota's bench, playing in 42 games. He should be able to latch on somewhere else in the NBA.

  • Cole Aldrich
    C, Minnesota Timberwolves

Cole Aldrich played 12 minutes in Saturday's drubbing, scoring four points with five rebounds as the Wolves got smoked in Philly.

Minnesota got to empty the bench early and it led to some very unexpected lines. Aaron Brooks scored eight points with a pair of triples. Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 11 points with two steals. Tyus Jones, who actually has some handcuff appeal, was productive with 11 points, six assists and three steals in 25 minutes. You shouldn't be making any moves that involve the Wolves bench unless you've got some insider knowledge on future garbage time.

Jimmy Butler (knee) is questionable for Wednesday
