The Cavs have allowed center Marques Bolden's 10-day contract to expire and he has returned to the Canton Charge of the G League.

Bolden went undrafted out of Duke this past summer. He signed with the Cavs for the summer league and the training camp, while he has made just one NBA appearance. He can still sign a second 10-day with the Cavs before the end of the season in mid-April but he is now obsolete with Andre Drummond in Cleveland.

The Cavs have signed Marques Bolden to a 10-day contract.

Bolden was with the Cavs in training camp after going undrafted out of Duke. He boasts a 7'6" wingspan but doesn't figure to see a ton of playing time behind Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Larry Nance Jr. and John Henson. Perhaps he becomes a deep-league blocks specialist if the Cavs clear that logjam.

The Cavs waived Marques Bolden on Saturday.

Going undrafted out of Duke, Bolden played well in limited minutes throughout Summer League and preseason. He will most likely spend the year in the G League. The Cavs have two open standard roster spots and and an open two-way slot with training camp invites Jarell Martin and Tyler Cook still around.

According to Alex Kennedy, the Cavs have signed Duke big man Marques Bolden (undrafted) to a deal.

Bolden is a 2016 All-American who committed to Duke as the No. 16 overall recruit. The 6'11" big man averaged 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in his 21 starts for Duke. Overshadowed by teammates Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish, Bolden projects to be a solid rebounder and rim protector thanks to his 7'6" wingspan. He has a bit of bulking up to do before he can hang with the Giants of the paint in the NBA, but considering he's more of a long-term prospect, the Cavs need not rush him too much to get there.
