Matthew Dellavedova

Fantasy News

  • Matthew Dellavedova
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

In his first complete season with the Cavs since winning a championship for them in 2015-16, Matthew Dellavedova saw 14.4 mpg across 57 games including four starts.

Delly was outside the top-350 in per-game value for 8/9-cat leagues. The tenacious defender struggled mightily with his efficiency with .354/.231/.865 splits and can be left off fantasy radars heading into the 2020-21 campaign. It is even possible that he doesn't find a way back onto an NBA roster next season as he is now an unrestricted free agent.

  • Matthew Dellavedova
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Matthew Dellavedova made another start on Tuesday and came away with eight points, eight assists, a steal, a block and two 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

Delly hit all three of his shots and has moved into the starting lineup with Kevin Porter Jr. and Darius Garland both on the shelf right now. He's been mostly hit or miss but has now put up 33 dimes in his last three contests while logging over 31 minutes in each, so he's a fine short-term add if you need assists and triples.

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    SG-SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Porter Jr. (concussion) is listed out for Tuesday's game vs. the Bulls.

Porter Jr. will miss his third game with a concussion he suffered last Wednesday. He was playing well before his concussion and is worth a look in standard leagues when he returns to the court. Matthew Dellavedova will have streaming value until Porter Jr. and Darius Garland (groin) return to the lineup.

  • Darius Garland
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Darius Garland (left groin strain) is listed out for Tuesday's game vs. the Bulls.

This will be Garland's fifth straight absence with this injury. Garland doesn't have high enough upside to hold outside of deeper leagues. Kevin Porter Jr. (concussion) is also ruled out Tuesday which will make Matthew Dellavedova worth streaming again after collecting 38 assists over the past four games.

    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Matthew Dellavedova shined on Sunday vs. the Spurs, putting together 14 points (3-of-11 FG, 6-of-7 FT), 11 assists, two 3-pointers and one steal.

The Cavs needed Dellavedova to log nearly 45 minutes in this overtime affair. They will be without Darius Garland (groin) for the near future, and that should leave Dellavedova as an excellent streamer for the assists he is bound to pile up.

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    SG-SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

According to Marc Spears of ESPN, Kevin Porter Jr. has been placed in the concussion protocol after getting hit in the head during Wednesday's game vs. the Celtics and is out indefinitely.

This is unfortunate news for Porter as he was seeing a larger role with the absence of Darius Garland (groin). Matthew Dellavedova will see additional opportunity while Porter is sidelined but is not worth a look outside of deeper leagues. Porter will need to pass the concussion protocol in order to return to action.

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    SG-SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Porter Jr. (head) is doubtful to return on Wednesday vs. the Celtics.

Porter Jr. has been a top-150 player over the past month and looks like he could break out late in the season for a young Cavs team. If he misses time Matthew Dellavedova could see more minutes until Darius Garland (groin) returns, but Garland looks like he will be back soon.

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    SG-SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

Kevin Porter Jr. (right ankle sprain) is being listed as questionable to play against the Pelicans on Tuesday.

Porter Jr. returned to action on Monday after a multi-week absence, and the team may exercise caution on the back end of a back-to-back set. If Porter can go, he may slide into the starting SG, with Darius Garland (rest) out and Collin Sexton sliding over to PG. Keep an eye on this situation as we approach tip-off.

  • Darius Garland
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Darius Garland (rest) is being listed as out for Tuesday's matchup with the Pelicans.

With Garland sitting out on the second half of a back-to-back there will be more minutes to go around for Collin Sexton, Dante Exum, Matthew Dellavedova, and Kevin Porter Jr. (questionable). Sexton will likely slide over to PG, while Porter would be a very interesting streamer if he hadn't only returned from a multi-week absence on Monday.

  • Dante Exum
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Dante Exum will not play in Tuesday's game against the Pistons due to illness.

This is a bummer as Exum is coming off a career-high 28 points in Sunday's loss to the Wolves. The good news is that it isn't another injury for the oft-injured guard. The Cavs play the Pistons again on Thursday. Matthew Dellavedova and Brandon Knight will see additional minutes.

  • Darius Garland
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Darius Garland (right ankle sprain) is questionable to play against the Wolves on Saturday.

Garland's play has been inconsistent this season to say the least. He followed up a 21-point effort on Monday with only two points on Friday for example. Even when his shot is falling, he does not provide enough production in other categories to warrant standard league consideration. If he does miss Saturday's game, you can expect Kevin Porter, Matthew Dellavedova and maybe Brandon Knight to divvy up his minutes.

  • Brandon Knight
    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Brandon Knight will miss Wednesday's game with a sprained right ankle.

Knight is coming off a nice game on Monday in which he scored 12 points in 12 minutes, but so far his production has been sporadic. Matthew Dellavedova could see a few more minutes in his absence.

    PG, Cleveland Cavaliers

Matthew Dellavedova (right calf soreness) has been upgraded to available for Thursday's game against the Heat.

Dellavedova is a deep rotation piece for the Cavs and is not currently fantasy relevant at only 14.9 minutes per game.

  • Kevin Porter Jr.
    SG-SF, Cleveland Cavaliers

According to head coach John Beilein, Kevin Porter Jr. (left hip contusion) and Matthew Dellavedova (right calf soreness) are both on track to play on Thursday against the Heat.

Beilein went on to say that they will both be available unless they endure a setback during warmups. Porter Jr. has had flashes so far this season but is best left on the wire in standard leagues. Dellavedova is only averaging 14.9 minutes per game and is not fantasy relevant at this time.

Delly is outside the top-300 on the year so hopefully you're not sweating this one.
