Maurice Harkless

  • Patrick Beverley
    PG, Los Angeles Clippers

Patrick Beverley double-doubled in a win over the Pacers on Monday, putting up 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting, 12 rebounds, five assists, three steals and a three in 39 minutes.

This was a great game for Beverley, who has had a nice season so far. He's providing late-round value, but he's not a fit for every team. Also with double-digit rebounds tonight was Maurice Harkless, who put up eight points, 14 rebounds and a block in 35 minutes. Harkless is mainly a steals streamer right now.

  • Maurice Harkless
    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Moe Harkless turned in a nice fantasy line in 23 minutes on Friday, delivering nine points, three steals, two blocks and a 3-pointer on 3-for-5 shooting.

Harkless should be good for top-200 numbers this season as one of the Clippers' versatile bench pieces, and as long as he's getting minutes in the twenties he'll be a solid source of steals and blocks.

    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Moe Harkless started with Kawhi Leonard out on Wednesday and made the most of his 12 minutes on the floor, posting five points, a 3-pointer and two blocks.

Harkless picked up four fouls in that short time on the floor, otherwise he was on track for a vintage Harkless line. He's sitting with top-225 value on the year and offers some spot appeal whenever Leonard sits. Terance Mann and Jerome Robinson helped pick up some of the wing slack with 14 minutes apiece, though neither did anything worth writing home about.

  • Kawhi Leonard
    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out of Wednesday's game to manage his left knee soreness.

This seems to be an ongoing issue for Leonard, but it's not shocking on the second half of a back-to-back. Maurice Harkless and JaMychal Green should play more than average against the Grizzlies.

Maurice Harkless scored 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with three assists, two rebounds, one steal and one block on Thursday.

Harkless is going to give the Clippers solid minutes off the bench and is another one of their wing players that dogs the opposing wings on defense. He's not an excellent fantasy player, but definitely worth keeping an eye out for as long as Paul George (shoulder) is out as a potential triple-one guy.

    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Maurice Harkless put up cash counters galore off the bench in a victory over the Lakers on Tuesday, going for four steals, two blocks and two threes to supplement his 10 points (4-for-7 FGs) and four boards in 29 minutes.

Patrick Patterson got the spot start and provided just four points, three rebounds and a trey in 17 minutes. Harkless could see the majority of starts while Paul George is out, though, so see if he's available in your league. Harkless can put up sneaky-good stats given enough minutes.

  • Paul George
    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Paul George (right rotator cuff and left labrum tear) does not have a timetable to begin participating in full-contact drills.

Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said the team is expecting to be without George with at least the first 10 games, which would put his return to mid-November. Moe Harkless looks like the most likely candidate to fill in for George during his absence.

Doc Rivers said that he's considering starting Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams in certain matchups and that the fifth starter in those cases would be a "pick 'em" situation.

The main candidates in that configuration, when both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are playing, are Patrick Beverley or Landry Shamet at point guard or Moe Harkless at power forward. The Clippers, when healthy, have assembled one of the most versatile teams in the league so it wouldn't be surprising if Rivers leveraged that to get the most out of his team on any given night.

  • Paul George
    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers are preparing to be without Paul George (right rotator cuff and left labrum tear) for at least the first 10 games of the season.

If he only misses 10 games that would put George in line to return on November 13 versus the Rockets. This seems to be the best case scenario and Moe Harkless and JaMychal Green figure to absorb most of George's minutes while he is out.

Moe Harkless had a nice night from the field in the Clippers 127-87 victory over the Shanghai Sharks on Sunday, scoring 16 points on 7-of-7 shooting with two blocks.

Harkless also nailed both his 3-point attempts in just 12 minutes of action. Harkless can deliver steady late-round value when he gets decent playing time, but he is never going to win you a fantasy championship. He is more of a reliable late-round target for deeper fantasy leagues.

  • Maurice Harkless
    SF, Los Angeles Clippers

Maurice Harkless is part of the starting unit for the Clippers at the moment, along with Landry Shamet and Ivica Zubac.

Kawhi Leonard and Patrick Beverley were the two no-doubters, and Harkless is clearly just in there while Paul George misses time due to shoulder surgeries. With a deep team, it is intriguing to see who will be running with the two new all-NBA acquisitions. Harkless could see starters minutes for anywhere from a week to over a month to start the season.

Moe Harkless will end up with the Clippers when the four-way trade between the Blazers, Sixers, Heat and Clippers is made official.

Miami will also be sending a future first-round pick to the Clippers. Harkless was traded to Miami in the Hassan Whiteside deal earlier today, and it was assumed that such a move would have ramifications for the Heat's pursuit of Butler — albeit not this directly. Harkless is unlikely to start for the Clippers, so this is a big hit to his fantasy appeal.

  • Maurice Harkless
    SF, Miami Heat

Moe Harkless will be dealt to the Heat when the offseason moratorium ends.

Harkless and Meyers Leonard will head to the Heat with Hassan Whiteside going to Portland. The move takes Whiteside's absurd $27.1 million salary off the books, and Harkless and Leonard will make about $22 million combined. That extra room will make completing the Jimmy Butler sign-and-trade much easier. As it stands, Harkless has a chance of starting for Miami, though there are more personnel moves to come. Currently his biggest threats to playing time look like James Johnson, Kelly Olynyk (who may be traded) and Derrick Jones Jr. Harkless was a top-150ish player last year and closed his season with a top-90 run. Don't forget about him. Back in Portland, Kent Bazemore, Rodney Hood, Mario Hezonja and Nassir Little should step into extra minutes, which helps their outlooks considerably.

  • Hassan Whiteside
    C, Miami Heat

The Heat and Blazers are finalizing a deal that would send Hassan Whiteside to Portland in exchange for Moe Harkless and Meyers Leonard.

The Heat and Whiteside have been headed for divorce for some time now, and they've finally found a way out from his big contract. Whiteside should start at center and split minutes with Zach Collins until Jusuf Nurkic is healthy again, while Harkless and Leonard get added to a deep frontcourt rotation in Miami.
