Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

    F, Charlotte Hornets

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist drew the start on Wednesday night but only posted nine points, five rebounds, a steal and a triple in 23 minutes.

MKG looks to be Charlotte's starting power forward for the duration of Marvin Williams' (shoulder) absence. He's got a very low ceiling but should be able to give owners enough rebounds, blocks and steals to carve out some level of interest in 14-team leagues.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is starting in place of Marvin Williams (shoulder) on Wednesday.

This is the expected arrangement for as long as Williams is out. MKG gives the Hornets a steady defensive presence and fantasy owners can view him as a viable source of cheap rebounds and defensive stats. Miles Bridges also gets a bump and is the higher-upside player, so we'd rather roll the dice with him unless you need exactly what Kidd-Gilchrist is bringing to the table.

  • Tony Parker
    G, Charlotte Hornets

Tony Parker scored 20 points (0-for-2 from deep) and added nine dimes and a steal in Friday’s loss to the Jazz.

Parker has these random explosions every four or five games but has just top-275 9-cat value on the season and is more useful in very deep leagues. Miles Bridges chipped in 12 points in 16 minutes and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist had 11 points in 24 minutes.

  • Cody Zeller
    F/C, Charlotte Hornets

Cody Zeller (left rib contusion) will not return to Friday’s game.

Zeller only played seven minutes before his injury and finished with two rebounds, a block and a turnover. He’d been a top-100 9-cat play on the season with more appeal in roto formats so it stinks to see him go down. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Frank Kaminsky and Willy Hernangomez are all possible beneficiaries but none of them have done anything notable so far tonight- it’s now midway through the third quarter and Hernangomez hasn’t even checked in yet.

  • Cody Zeller
    F/C, Charlotte Hornets

Cody Zeller (left rib contusion) left Friday’s game and is questionable to return.

We’ll have an update soon enough. Willy Hernangomez, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Frank Kaminsky stand to benefit if Zeller has to miss any games.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist returned from a six-game absence to log 17 minutes on Monday against the Bucks, finishing with seven points, seven boards, two blocks, a triple, a steal and an assist.

This was MKG’s first game where he had a block, three and a steal all season. Maybe he had some time to work on his three while he missed the last two weeks of action but we wouldn’t count on it. View MKG as a defensive specialist in 16-team leagues.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist will return to the lineup on Monday after missing six games with a sprained right ankle.

Kidd-Gilchrist might be able to pick up enough steals, blocks and rebounds to help out owners in deep leagues but his bigger fantasy impact might be limiting the minutes of Miles Bridges.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (sprained right ankle) is probable for Monday's game against the Bucks.

MKG will be returning from a six-game absence. His defensive prowess makes him a name to keep an eye on in deeper leagues. This likely means a slight knock in minutes for Miles Bridges.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (sprained right ankle) will not play on Sunday.

MKG misses his sixth straight game, though he does appear to be nearing a return. His defensive abilities give him a path to low-end value in deeper leagues but we'd much rather see Miles Bridges push his way to the front of the bench.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (right ankle sprain) is listed as questionable against the Hawks on Sunday.

Kidd-Gilchrist seems to be nearing a return and another update is sure to come prior to Sunday's game. He is worth keeping an eye on in 14-team leagues even though he minutes are down to 20.4 this year. Miles Bridges hasn't been unleashed as one would have hoped with Kidd-Gilchrist missing the last five games.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will not play on Friday against the Thunder.

MKG has no fantasy value outside of deep leagues and his absence has helped stabilize some deep league value for Miles Bridges.

The Hornets will be without Michael Kidd-Gilchrist when they face the Pacers tonight.

MKG will remain sidelined for a fourth consecutive game and Marvin Williams with rookie Miles Bridges will pick up most of his minutes. Wily Hernangomez will also miss the game and there is a chance we get to see Frank Kaminsky play more in a year where he hasn’t been able to get consistent playing time mainly due to the Hornets loaded frontcourt.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is listed as out for Wednesday vs. the Pacers.

Kidd-Gilchrist will miss his fourth straight game and we'll see his minutes absorbed by a combination of Marvin Williams, Nicolas Batum and Miles Bridges. The 25-year-old has little to no upside for extended minutes any time soon and can be drooped outside of 14-team leagues and up.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) is doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.

Kidd-Gilchrist is likely to miss another game according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer. The 25-year-old missed the last three games and there isn't really a true beneficiary of his absence. His 20 mpg are absorbed by Marvin Williams, Nicolas Batum and Miles Bridges. He has top-150 value this season in 9-cat thanks to 0.6 TO's per game, but the development of Miles Bridges will keep any upside for minutes shackled.
