Nemanja Bjelica

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica is questionable for Friday's contest against the Bucks with a left ankle injury that had him miss practice on Thursday.

Bjelica is getting a sizeable role with the Kings right now so it would unfortunate to see him sit the game out. The Kings are pretty thin upfront and if Bjelica and Marvin Bagley III missed this game Harry Giles and Dewayne Dedmon could be heading for big opportunities on Friday.

Nemanja Bjelica sat out of Thursday's practice with a left ankle injury.

This is the first we are hearing about this and it doesn't appear to be serious. However, it will be important to monitor the Kings' official injury report ahead of Friday's game vs. the Clippers as the Kings were without four rotation players during Thursday's practice.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica poured in 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting with seven rebounds, one assist, three steals and three triples in 38 minutes in a win over the Suns on Tuesday.

It seems like every time the Kings are about to have a healthy lineup, another big man goes down and Bjelica keeps the starting spot. While they're banged up, keep rolling him out there, as he continues to put up top-100 value. Next to Bjelica, Buddy Hield put up 16 points, three boards, two dimes and four treys in just 24 minutes, which may have had to do with a poor defensive effort.

  • Marvin Bagley III
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Marvin Bagley III (left foot sprain) is being listed as doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Suns.

There still has been no word on if Bagley has practiced or taken contact yet, so a return to game action seems unlikely right now. With Richaun Holmes (doubtful) hurting his shoulder, the Kings could use the services of Bagley. Harry Giles, Nemanja Bjelica and the disgruntled Dewayne Dedmon will all see extra minutes while Bagley and Holmes are out.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica scored eight points on 2-of-4 shooting to go with 10 boards, one assist and two triples on Monday.

Bjelica logged 27 minutes and could continue to see some extra time if Richaun Holmes (shoulder) is sidelined for an extended period of time. He's worth a speculative add for now.

  • Marvin Bagley III
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Marvin Bagley III (left foot sprain) remains out for Monday's matchup against the Warriors.

The clock is still ticking on when Bagley gets contact work or practice under his belt, much less a return to game action. It'd be nice to get a more thorough update. Keep crossing your fingers and feel free to throw Nemanja Bjeclia onto the floor for Monday. He'll continue returning late-round value as long as Bagley remains sidelined.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica double-doubled in Saturday's loss to the Pelicans, notching 12 points, 10 rebounds, one assist and a steal.

Bjelica is producing nicely in teammate Marvin Bagley III absence. He found himself in foul trouble early and ended up playing just 22 minutes in this one. Owners would be wise to ride him with Bagley III injured, though he was still seeing decent minutes together.

  • Marvin Bagley III
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Marvin Bagley III (left foot sprain) will remain out when the Kings meet the Pelicans on Saturday.

Bagley got some shots up at Friday's practice, but Saturday will be his fifth missed game due to the injury. Hypothetically, we should be getting closer to Bagley's return, but feel free to keep rolling Nemanja Bjelica out there in standard leagues in the meantime.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica drew another start and put up eight points, five rebounds, two blocks and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes on Thursday night.

Bjelica is good to go for as long as Marvin Bagley is out, and he shouldn't be on waivers in any competitive format.

  • Richaun Holmes
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Richaun Holmes put together 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and one steal against the Nuggets on Sunday.

If anything, the Kings should be giving Holmes even more minutes, but Harry Giles wound up getting 17 minutes off the bench in place of the injured Marvin Bagley III. Holmes has no problem putting together early-round value over 31 minutes a night though. Bagley's replacement for power forward minutes, Nemanja Bjelica, had a big night from the field as well, going 10-of-13 for 27 points, while offering six rebounds, five 3-pointers and one block. We've seen Bjelica produce nice numbers next to Holmes previously this season, and he is once again an add in standard leagues until Bagley returns.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica was targeted relentlessly and gave up double-digit plays on the defensive side against the Suns on Saturday, but turned in a solid line with 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting, two threes, six boards, four assists, one steal and one block in 30 minutes.

The Kings have been putting the wrong guys on the floor for a decade but in Bjelica's case he gets numbers (at least the kind fantasy owners want) and has at least until Marvin Bagley's return to be a solid late-round guy at worst. And he might just wiggle through whatever mess the Kings create.

  • Richaun Holmes
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Despite sharing the starting frontcourt with Marvin Bagley III on Monday, Richaun Holmes still performed well, dropping 12 points (5-of-9 shooting), 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block.

Holmes' performance is encouraging, especially given the context that he shared the paint with Bagley, something that was a looming concern for his owners. So far, so good, for Holmes' outlook. The biggest loser with Bagley's move appears to be Nemanja Bjelica, who moved to the bench and had just 10 points (4-of-11 shooting), two rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

  • Richaun Holmes
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Richaun Holmes accumulated 20 points (9-for-10 shooting), nine rebounds and a block in Friday's 105-119 loss to the Pacers.

Holmes only logged 24 minutes, which was the fewest of the starting unit despite being on fire from the field. Nemanja Bjelica started alongside Holmes and produced 13 points (5-for-15 shooting), five rebounds, three assists and a three. Both players could see their minutes further restricted if and when Marvin Bagley re-enters the starting five.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica logged 30 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Hornets, posting 12 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, a block and a pair of 3-pointers.

The Kings seem intent on making Bjelica the starting power forward from here on out, because they like the shooting he provides, but it will be a battle to hold off the clearly superior duo that shouldn't be in a timeshare at center. He's a sell-high guy but there's no reason he can't produce standard-league numbers as long as he's starting.

  • Nemanja Bjelica
    PF, Sacramento Kings

Nemanja Bjelica tied his career-high assist total in Friday's loss to the Knicks with seven, adding 12 points, three triples, two rebounds and a block.

Bjelica's role now that Marvin Bagley is back in action is still to be determined as Bagley is being worked back into the rotation slowly. It feels like Bjelica, Bagley and Richaun Holmes will be splitting the majority of the minutes in the Kings front court. Continue to hold Bjelica until he gives you a reason not to.
