Nicolas Claxton finished outside the top-400 in 8/9-cat rankings in 2019-20, posting averages of 4.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game.

Claxton managed to squeeze out 15 games out of his rookie campaign after struggling to find rotation minutes in a clogged frontcourt. He showed some promise with back-to-back games scoring in double figures (14 & 15 points), making him an intriguing dynasty stash. That said, his .524 shooting clip from the line remains the biggest Waterloo of his stat set.

Nicolas Claxton underwent arthoscopic labrum repair surgery on Wednesday and will not join the Nets in Orlando when the season resumes.

Claxton is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for training camp next season. The Nets are not playing for a title this season, so it makes sense to take care of their young player so he can be ready for next season. Claxton only appeared in 15 games this season, averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 rebounds on 56 percent shooting from the field in 12.5 minutes per game. He will struggle to find consistent minutes on the Nets next season with Jarrett Allen and DeAndre Jordan ahead of him in the rotation. Claxton is mobile for a big man and could potentially be a dynamic defender on the perimeter. He has long-term upside and should be watched from a distance in dynasty leagues. If you are rebuilding in 16-team leagues he might be worth picking up to see if he shows some flashes next season.

Nicolas Claxton hopped on the Nets' Twitter account on Friday to do a Q & A session with fans, revealing that he will be working on improving his jump shot during his time off.

Claxton only has 15 career NBA games under his belt thus far, but showed some promise during the 2019-2020 season. His shooting percentages, however, could use some improvement. The 6-foot-11 power forward shot only 56.2 percent from the floor; not great for someone who takes the majority of his shots from in close. Claxton's 52.4 free-throw percentage and paltry 14.3 percent from deep obviously leaves much to be desired as well. During his career at the University of Georgia (two seasons, 65 games), he also struggled shooting the ball. He finished with career percentages of 50.0 percent FG, 30.2 percent 3PT and 61.1 percent from the line while with the Bulldogs from 2017-2019. Claxton's shot evidently still needs plenty of refinement.

The Nets have recalled big man Nicolas Claxton on Monday.

With DeAndre Jordan now starting and Jarrett Allen backing him up, Claxton can be left on waivers. If either of the guys in front of Claxton gets hurt though, he'd be a potential option for cheap blocks and rebounds.

Nicolas Claxton has been assigned to the Long Island Nets of the G League for tonight’s home game against the Delaware Blue Coats.

The rookie has showed some promise in his first year but with DeAndre Jordan and Jarrett Allen now healthy there are simply no minutes available for him.

The Nets assigned Nicolas Claxton to their G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets, on Wednesday.

With DeAndre Jordan and Jarrett Allen healthy it’s gonna be hard for the rookie center to find any minutes. He is only a stash in dynasty leagues right now.

DeAndre Jordan (right middle finger dislocation) will return to the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

With Jordan back in the lineup, Jarrett Allen will take a hit as the two will presumably return to splitting C minutes. Nicolas Claxton had seen extra run the past few games, but he will be relegated to deeper-reserve status for this one.

Nicolas Claxton (left shoulder contusion ) is available to play during Saturday's game versus the Pistons.

DeAndre Jordan is set to miss another game and this should open up a few minutes for the young big man. Jordan won't be out for much longer and Claxton has little to no value in standard leagues with the logjam in the frontcourt.

Coach Kenny Atkinson said Nicolas Claxton (left shoulder) is questionable for Saturday's game against Detroit.

The wiry big man is suffering from an unspecified shoulder injury. He would've been a nice streamer in deeper leagues while DeAndre Jordan missed time, but the Nets don't want to commit to Claxton just yet. He's a guy to keep in mind late in drafts next year.

Nicolas Claxton (shoulder) is being listed as out for Thursday's game against the Lakers.

Claxton will join DeAndre Jordan (finger) on the sidelines for this one. Jarrett Allen is in line for all the run that he can handle in this primetime matchup.

The Nets have downgraded Nicolas Claxton (shoulder) to doubtful for Thursday's game against the Lakers.

Claxton was injured when Giannis Antetokounmpo set a screen during the game on Saturday. He managed to play well on Monday but is apparently still dealing with the issue. If Claxton and DeAndre Jordan cannot play, Jarrett Allen will have a lot of responsibility.

Nets rookie Nicolas Claxton impressed in his second consecutive game, filling in for the injured DeAndre Jordan,

For Claxton, this is his second consecutive solid performance against a playoff-caliber team. He came off the bench for 14 points, six rebounds and three blocks in Brooklyn’s loss to Milwaukee on Saturday. He is a short-term add for as long as DJ remains sidelined while he has shown great potential to be owned in dynasty leagues.

Nicolas Claxton posted 15 points and four rebounds in just 18 minutes on Monday.

Credit to Claxton for besting his two-day-old career high in points in just 18 minutes today. The Nets' rookie has an intriguing statistical profile and documented per-minute upside, but the team doesn't yet trust him with a full workload in either frontcourt position. He's also one of the thinnest "big" men in the league, so expect muscle watch season to feature Claxton this offseason. He's a player to add in 16-team leagues whenever the guys ahead of him get hurt, much like the wiry Chris Boucher up in Toronto.

Nicolas Claxton was the beneficiary of both the absence of DeAndre Jordan and some garbage time on Saturday, recording a career-high 14 points on 7-of-12 shooting with six rebounds, one assist and three blocks in 19 minutes.

It was a nice preview of what Claxton can bring to the table. However, as long as DeAndre Jordan is still healthy enough to play for the Nets, Claxton is nothing more than a dynasty-league stash at this stage in his career.
