Nicolo Melli, E'Twaun Moore and Jaxson Hayes will start for the Pelicans on Tuesday night against the Kings.

The Pelicans, like the Kings, have been eliminated from playoff contention. Both teams are starting reserves and resting usual starters since the game is essentially meaningless. Hayes seems most likely to benefit, as his Orlando usage has been quite low.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli scored 10 points on Friday to go along with six rebounds as the Pelicans beat the Wizards on Friday evening.

Melli went 2-for-2 from long range, which is mostly what he is called upon to do (make threes). The rookie played 18 minutes on Friday, one more than his season average of 17. With Zion Williamson (rest) sitting this one out, there was more scoring opportunities for Melli. He will slide back into his normal role off the bench when Williamson returns.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson (personal) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Jazz.

Williamson had been away from the Pelicans attending to a family matter. He has since rejoined the team and practiced on Wednesday. Fantasy owners will want to check back prior to the game for an update on his status. If he cannot play, Nicolo Melli should see a boost in usage.

Nicolo Melli had a rough outing on Wednesday against the Bucks, scoring eight points on 3-of-8 shooting (2-for-7 3PT) with five boards, two assists and a block.

Melli helps stretch the floor for the Pelicans, which is something they absolutely need when Zion Williamson returns, but tonight he did't have his shot.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli averaged 6.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 triples, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks in 52 games for the Pelicans, good for 267/273 value in 8/9-cat leagues on a per-game basis.

The expectations were high for Melli and he surely did not disappoint in his rookie year, providing the Pelicans with some much-needed versatility on both ends of the floor. The Italian forward shot a respectable .361 from behind the 3-point arc, allowing New Orleans to use him in effective small-ball lineups. He was also a member of the Rising Stars challenge during the All-Star Game in Chicago, solidifying himself as a strong veteran presence for a young Pelicans squad.

Nicolo Melli chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and a 3-pointer on Sunday afternoon.

Melli disappointed with a 4-for-7 mark at the charity stripe but was otherwise solid, furthering his case for fantasy deployment as one of New Orleans' most dependable and versatile options off the bench. This is probably a ceiling game for Melli but he's worth a look if the minutes are there.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli hit just one of his nine shots on Wednesday night but made it count, drilling a tough corner three to send the game to overtime.

Melli added four rebounds, three assists and a steal and looks to be New Orleans' 3-point specialist of choice with JJ Redick out. He's been inside the top-125 in the last couple of weeks and should be considered as a low-end option for triples going forward.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli came off the bench to score 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting against the Lakers on Tuesday, adding six rebounds, two assists, a block and a three in 27 minutes.

Melli started his rookie season slowly, even with some extra minutes due to injuries to the Pelicans frontcourt. But even with a healthy squad, Melli has now scored in double figures in five of the last seven games. He's mainly good for threes on a high field goal percentage, but Melli can contribute some boards and blocks when he gets enough minutes as well. If he continues to play about 23 minutes per game, he's worth a look in standard leagues.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli scored 20 points and knocked down a career-high six triples in a win over the Warriors on Sunday.

Melli tied his career-high in scoring and shot 7-of-8 from the field. He added five rebounds, one assist and one block to the box score. He can be used as a deep-league shooting specialist if you are short on triples.

  • Josh Hart
    SG, New Orleans Pelicans

Josh Hart contributed 13 points (4-for-5 shooting), 13 rebounds, three triples, two assists and one block in 28 minutes on Friday.

Hart was sensational in Friday's game as he frequently used his superior athleticism to overpower the Blazers defense. Nicolo Melli was also productive off the bench with 13 points (5-for-11 shooting), five rebounds, three triples and a steal.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli will replace Deandre Ayton in Friday's Rising Stars challenge.

Melli has been a solid contributor for the Pelicans in his first NBA season, averaging 6.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.1 threes in 15.6 mpg, while shooting 37.3% from beyond the arc. It's a nice honor for him but most fantasy players can continue to watch Melli from the waiver wire.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli had a career-high nine rebounds in addition to 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers on Tuesday in a win over the Blazers.

Melli benefitted from Brandon Ingram (right ankle sprain) sitting out this game. However, Melli's value has been trending up lately anyway, as he's hit at least two triples in six out of the last seven games and his minutes have been on the rise. Frank Jackson also made the most of his increased minutes tonight, putting up 13 points, two boards, five dimes and three triples in 23 minutes.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli started for a late-scratch Zion Williamson (sprained ankle) on Saturday and quietly put up nine points on 3-of-8 shooting with six rebounds, three triples and one assist.

This was a low-key line, but don't be too disappointed as it's still par for Melli's course this season. He remains a 3-point streamer in most formats.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Pacers according to coach Alvin Genry.

It is not known what Williamson is dealing with but may be related to the toe sprain that had him questionable for Tuesday's game. If Zion and Brandon Ingram (doubtful-ankle) are both held out on Saturday then Nicolo Melli may get the start at power forward with Josh Hart or J.J. Redick starting at the three.

    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli made an impact in Tuesday's loss to the Bucks, making three 3-pointers and chipping in three rebounds and two defensive stats in 16 minutes.

One of his shots late kept the Pelicans in the game and got the bench fired up. Other than threes, Melli does not contribute enough to warrant consideration for fantasy owners in most formats. He is worth consideration in 18-team leagues or deeper.
