  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (personal) will not play on Thursday vs. the Suns.

Favors is dealing with something much bigger than basketball right now. While he remains out, Jaxson Hayes, Nicolò Melli and Kenrich Williams could see more opportunity.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors is officially questionable to face the Suns on Thursday as he is dealing with personal issues.

Favors is currently dealing with something that is much bigger than basketball. He will have a great opportunity once he is able to return to the court. Jaxson Hayes and Nicolò Melli will continue to see additional minutes if Favors misses another game.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower left back spasms) is being listed as out for Tuesday's game against the Blazers.

It will once again be Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli getting all the run that they can handle in a depleted frontcourt. Hayes is coming off a 10 point, 10 rebound and three block performance and is a cheap DFS target on Tuesday's small slate. With Derrick Favors health an uncertainty Hayes also makes for a target in season long leagues.

  • Brandon Ingram
    SF, New Orleans Pelicans

Brandon Ingram is listed as questionable to face the Blazers on Tuesday due to right knee soreness.

Nicolo Melli and Jaxson Hayes have both performed well with all the frontcourt injuries. Even if Ingram returns, they should still play a fair amount because Derrick Favors and Jahlil Okafor are still injured.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors will miss Tuesday's game due to left lower back spasms.

With Jahlil Okafor also listed as doubtful, Nicolo Melli and Jaxson Hayes should see plenty of time on the court. Both scored double digit points on Sunday.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor is doubtful to play on Tuesday due to a left ankle sprain.

Okafor has not played since November 11. Nicolo Melli and Jaxson Hayes will continue to get more opportunities in his likely absence.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli saw the bulk of the center minutes off the bench and put up 16 points on five 3-pointers in a win over the Warriors on Sunday.

Melli saw extended run as the Pelicans were missing most of their key players and he made the most of his opportunity. He added five rebounds and three assists to the stat sheet in his 27 minutes of action. Melli provides deep-league shooting value, but his ceiling is capped at top-200 when the team is fully healthy.

  • Jaxson Hayes
    PF-C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jaxson Hayes is slated to start the first game of his career on Sunday versus the Warriors.

The Pelicans are thin and will have to rely on Hayes and Nicolo Melli to handle the center minutes. Both are viable streaming and DFS options.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (back spasms) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Warriors.

The Pelicans will also be without Jahlil Okafor and will need to rely on their youth in the frontcourt. Nicolo Melli and Jaxson Hayes will see extended run and our both solid value plays for DFS tonight.

  • Brandon Ingram
    SF, New Orleans Pelicans

Brandon Ingram (right knee soreness) is being listed as doubtful for Sunday's game versus the Warriors.

Ingram was close to playing in the last game before being downgraded to questionable. The Pelicans will barely have enough bodies to fill out their starting lineup tonight. Kenrich Williams, Nicolo Melli and E'Twuan Moore will look to soak up Ingram's minutes and usage vaulting themselves into streaming and DFS consideration. Treat Ingram as day-to-day going forward.

  • Frank Jackson
    PG, New Orleans Pelicans

Frank Jackson suffered a neck injury and did not return to the game on Saturday after playing five minutes.

Jackson started and missed all three of his shots before leaving the game early. Nickeil Alexander-Walker stepped up and scored 27 points in 30 minutes on Saturday. Alexander-Walker and E'Twaun Moore benefit the most if Jackson misses time. Nicolo Melli should also see more minutes.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (left ankle sprain) is out against the Heat on Saturday.

Okafor made the most of his opportunity earlier this season with Favors out and appeared to have secured a spot in the rotation but will have now missed three of the last four games. Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli will backup Derrick Favors again on Saturday.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor and Nicolo Melli will start against the Thunder on Saturday.

Okafor was expected to start when Favors was announced as out with knee soreness earlier today, but Alvin Gentry choosing to move Ingram back to SF to start Melli at PF is a new wrinkle in this puzzling rotation. It's a questionable choice given that OKC runs most of their offense through Danilo Gallinari, who will likely give Melli fits tonight. Regardless, feel free to stream Okafor tonight against uneven defender and former teammate Nerlens Noel. There is significant DFS value to be had tonight on both injury-riddled squads.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Coach Alvin Gentry said that Derrick Favors (right knee soreness) missed Tuesday's practice and is a game-time decision for Thursday's matchup with the Nuggets.

If Favors is unable to go against the Nuggets, look for Jahlil Okafor to get another start while Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli get additional run against Nikola Jokic and company.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli impressed in his NBA debut on Tuesday, hitting 5-of-7 field goals (4-of-5 threes) for 14 points and adding five rebounds and two assists in 20 minutes off the bench.

Melli looked comfortable out there and confident with his shot, which is a strength. While Zion Williamson is out, Melli could be looking at a significant role off the bench. He even played some crunch-time minutes in this back-and-forth opener. He's at least worth a watch list add, if not a speculative pickup for those that need some threes from a forward.
