Fantasy News

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli scored 20 points and knocked down a career-high six triples in a win over the Warriors on Sunday.

Melli tied his career-high in scoring and shot 7-of-8 from the field. He added five rebounds, one assist and one block to the box score. He can be used as a deep-league shooting specialist if you are short on triples.

  • Josh Hart
    SG, New Orleans Pelicans

Josh Hart contributed 13 points (4-for-5 shooting), 13 rebounds, three triples, two assists and one block in 28 minutes on Friday.

Hart was sensational in Friday's game as he frequently used his superior athleticism to overpower the Blazers defense. Nicolo Melli was also productive off the bench with 13 points (5-for-11 shooting), five rebounds, three triples and a steal.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli will replace Deandre Ayton in Friday's Rising Stars challenge.

Melli has been a solid contributor for the Pelicans in his first NBA season, averaging 6.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.6 steals, 0.3 blocks and 1.1 threes in 15.6 mpg, while shooting 37.3% from beyond the arc. It's a nice honor for him but most fantasy players can continue to watch Melli from the waiver wire.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli had a career-high nine rebounds in addition to 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers on Tuesday in a win over the Blazers.

Melli benefitted from Brandon Ingram (right ankle sprain) sitting out this game. However, Melli's value has been trending up lately anyway, as he's hit at least two triples in six out of the last seven games and his minutes have been on the rise. Frank Jackson also made the most of his increased minutes tonight, putting up 13 points, two boards, five dimes and three triples in 23 minutes.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli started for a late-scratch Zion Williamson (sprained ankle) on Saturday and quietly put up nine points on 3-of-8 shooting with six rebounds, three triples and one assist.

This was a low-key line, but don't be too disappointed as it's still par for Melli's course this season. He remains a 3-point streamer in most formats.

  • Zion Williamson
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Zion Williamson will be a game-time decision for Saturday's game against the Pacers according to coach Alvin Genry.

It is not known what Williamson is dealing with but may be related to the toe sprain that had him questionable for Tuesday's game. If Zion and Brandon Ingram (doubtful-ankle) are both held out on Saturday then Nicolo Melli may get the start at power forward with Josh Hart or J.J. Redick starting at the three.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli made an impact in Tuesday's loss to the Bucks, making three 3-pointers and chipping in three rebounds and two defensive stats in 16 minutes.

One of his shots late kept the Pelicans in the game and got the bench fired up. Other than threes, Melli does not contribute enough to warrant consideration for fantasy owners in most formats. He is worth consideration in 18-team leagues or deeper.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower back soreness) is available on Wednesday vs. the Spurs.

Okafor is returning from injury on Wednesday along with teammates Derrick Favors and Zion Williamson. The Pelicans' front court just got crowded and Jaxson Hayes, Nicolo Melli and Okafor will struggle to have standard-league value with everyone healthy. Hayes is a luxury stash and the other two players can be left on the waiver wire.

  • Derrick Favors
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Derrick Favors (lower back soreness) is listed as probable for Wednesday's game.

Favors and teammate Jahlil Okafor have both been upgraded to probable. This news should push Jaxson Hayes and Nicolo Melli back to lesser roles.

  • Jahlil Okafor
    C, New Orleans Pelicans

Jahlil Okafor (lower back soreness) is being listed as questionable to play against the Spurs on Wednesday.

If Okafor can't go, there will be more minutes to go around for Nicolo Melli and Jaxson Hayes.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli returned to the bench on Monday but made his presence felt, helping the Pelicans beat the Grizzlies 126-116, chiming in with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, adding five rebounds, three treys, three assists and two blocks.

Melli might have played more minutes but dealt with a bit of foul trouble in this one. He's worth an add in 16-teamers or deeper as long as he remains in the Pelicans' rotation and is clocking in at over 25 minutes per game.

  • Nicolo Melli
    PF, New Orleans Pelicans

Nicolo Melli will return to a bench role on Saturday with the return of J.J. Redick.

Melli started the last two games in which he averaged 13.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 triples and 1.0 steals in 31.5 minutes but now returns to a bench role where his minutes have been very inconsistent all year and thus, can be ignored in fantasy.

  • JJ Redick
    SG, New Orleans Pelicans

J.J. Redick (left hamstring strain) has been downgraded to out for Thursday’s matchup vs. the Jazz.

Josh Hart, E’Twaun Moore and Nicolò Melli all have a chance for additional opportunity with Redick ruled out for the third straight time. Hart and Moore could even be viewed as low-cost DFS plays as they both have seen close to 30 minutes per game in the last two games that Redick has missed.

  • Brandon Ingram
    SF, New Orleans Pelicans

Brandon Ingram has been upgraded from questionable to probable for Thursday's tilt vs. the Jazz as he deals with soreness in his right knee.

Ingram appears on track to play which would likely decrease the streaming appeal of both Nicolò Melli and Jahlil Okafor. Ingram should be locked in lineups across all formats if he plays.

Nicolo Melli started on Monday and scored 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting with three boards, two assists, two steals and two triples.

Meli got the start with Brandon Ingram (knee) sitting this one out and is a good bet for 3-point streaming appeal whenever he gets the minutes.
