Dio checks in on the Southeast Division, where the Magic boast a strong group of international talent.

Nikole Vucevic (left ankle sprain) will not play in Sunday's preseason game versus the Sixers.
This will be the second straight game Vucevic will miss due to the ankle sprain, but it is still not believed to be serious. Look for Mo Bamba and Khem Birch to step up in his absence.

It is unclear if Nikola Vucevic (left ankle sprain) will suit up for Sunday's game against the Sixers according to head coach Steve Clifford.
Vucevic participated fully in Friday's practice but it was non-contact. The takeaway here is that even if he misses Sunday's game, he shouldn't be out much longer so this shouldn't affect his draft stock. Appearing in 80 games, he finished 5th overall in standard leagues last year and 11th in per-game value while his role isn't expected to change this season.

Nikola Vucevic has been ruled out of Friday's preseason game against the Celtics with a mild left ankle sprain.
This is the first we're hearing of any ankle issue with Vooch, so we're not going to read into this too closely. Mo Bamba has some ground to make up in the position battle with fellow backup Khem Birch, and tonight will offer him extended run to make a case for taking some minutes away from him.

Nikola Vucevic scored 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting with four rebounds in a 97-88 win over the Hawks on Wednesday.
Vucevic had a career-year last season and he looks to keep his momentum this season with the Magic eyeing another playoff appearance. Vucevic will be critical to the success of this Magic team so his minutes should be safe and he should produce top-30 value comfortably with top-15 upside.

Nikola Vucevic scored 10 points on 4-of-10 shooting with 10 rebounds, two assists, a block and a triple against the Pistons on Monday.
Vucevic was frustrated all night battling against Andre Drummond, which is something most bigs will encounter when they play the Pistons. He has a safe floor as the Magic's main big and there's no real threat to his job security.

In an interview Wednesday, Magic head coach Steve Clifford said he could see Nikola Vucevic improving across all areas of his game, and echoing his player's belief that he is in his prime.
One of the areas Clifford thought Vucevic could improve upon was his 3-point shooting percentage, and also seemed to indicate that he could contonue to up his play on defense. He's unquestionably solidified himself as the anchor of this team, and the Magic as a whole are likely eyeing to improve upon their momentum as a rising young playoff team in an Eastern Conference that looks pretty weak after the top four to five teams. Expect Vucevic to produce safe second-round value this season.

Mo Bamba will enter training camp second on the depth chart behind Nikola Vučević.
Head coach of the Magic, Steve Clifford, told a reporter that he plans on having Bamba as his primary backup center while Khem Birch will be third on the depth chart. The Magic also have Vučević, who was re-signed in the offseason to a four-year, $100M contract. As long as Bamba is backing up Vučević, his fantasy ceiling is capped outside of standard redraft leagues.

Nikola Vucevic had a nice line in just 25 minutes on Monday in a win over Japan, putting up 18 points (8-of13 FGs), seven boards, a block and two 3-pointers.
Montenegro is no longer in contention, so there has been no need to push Vucevic. He should be able to at least come close to his stats from last year's breakout season, as the majority of the Magic roster is the same. If you haven't checked out how great his performance was last season, compare his averages to those of Joel Embiid.

Nikola Vucevic checked in with 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a 3-pointer in Saturday's 74-79 loss to Turkey.
Vucevic's playing time has been down throughout the tournament as Monetenegro just hasn't been competitive, but it was nice to see him log 31 minutes and get up to his usual tricks in this one. He's locked and loaded as an early-round fantasy selection this season.

With Montenegro seemingly eliminated, Nikola Vucevic came off the bench in Thursday's loss to Brazil playing just 13 minutes.
This short run with an inferior supporting cast won't have any lasting effects on Vucevic this upcoming season. He remains a top target in fantasy drafts.

Nikola Vucevic played only 27 minutes in a tough loss against New Zealand on Tuesday, scoring 15 points and adding nine rebounds.
New Zealand made Vuc the focus of their defense sending the extra player every time the big man touched the ball. It has been an underwhelming tournament for the Magic center so far and Montenegro will have to win their next game against Brazil to keep their hopes alive. Vucevic still remains a top target for fantasy drafts this season though.

Nikola Vucevic was limited in Team Montenegro's blowout loss to Greece, scoring 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting.
The lack of talent along the perimeter for this team makes it tough for Vucevic to get the ball where he needs it to be a scoring force. He will be a tough player to guage in drafts this year as he in all likelihood hit his ceiling as a fantasy player with the top-15 performance he produced last season. He makes sense as a late third round target. The question will be whether he falls far enough in drafts to be taken there.

Evan Fournier led France with 17 points on 50% shooting as they defeated Montenegro in a tune-up match ahead of the start of the World Cup.
France has a starting lineup consisting of four NBA players: Frank Ntilikina, Nicolas Batum, Rudy Gobert and Fournier. Montenegro is led by Fournier's teammate, Nikola Vučević. Vučević had 12 points to go along with 10 boards. France is the fifth ranked team while Montenegro is ranked 20th according to Eurohoops.net.

The Magic officially announced their re-signing of Nikola Vucevic.
Vucevic is slated to make $100 million over his four-year deal, though the Magic did not officially release the terms. He's coming off a career season and should be in line for more elite fantasy production as the cornerstone of Orlando's offense. We'd be wary of some regression but Vooch looks like a safe bet for top-40 numbers at minimum — it just might not be the top-15 returns from last season.
