P.J. Tucker

  • Clint Capela
    C, Houston Rockets

Clint Capela had a monster double-double with 29 points and 21 rebounds and added three blocks and two steals in Friday’s overtime loss to the Pistons.

Capela has been rolling lately and has top-35/45 value in 9/8-cat on the season. P.J. Tucker added 11 points (three 3s), eight rebounds and a steal and remains a solid lower-end value for a 3-and-D guy.

  • Carmelo Anthony
    F, Houston Rockets

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni said he wants wants Carmelo Anthony on the floor when P.J. Tucker is off, and vice versa because he sees them both as power forwards.

It was widely assumed that Melo and Tucker would start together but now it appear to not be the case so maybe James Ennis is the starter at the 3. We’ll have to see how his rotation shakes out and if Melo’s staggered minutes coincide with Chris Paul’s. Either way, Melo looks to have a decreased role on offense as James Harden and Chris Paul control the offense.

  • P.J. Tucker
    PF, Houston Rockets

P.J. Tucker followed up his career-best postseason scoring game with six points on 2-of-5 shooting to go with six rebounds and an assist in Sunday's Game 3.

Tucker was the most accurate Rockets player from deep, but the team as a whole was sluggish and didn't execute nearly as well as they did in Game 1. Trevor Ariza and Tucker both missed some easy buckets and were active on defense to start the game, but by the third quarter the Warriors ran away with it. After an unsustainable shooting night in Game 2, the role players crashed hard. Expect a performance in between Game 2 and 3 for Tuesday's match in Oracle Arena.

  • P.J. Tucker
    SF, Houston Rockets

P.J. Tucker scored 15 points on five 3-pointers and added three rebounds and two assists in the Rockets' Game 5 victory over the Wolves on Wednesday night.

If the Rockets' supporting cast is burying their absurd amount of 3-pointers, there's little hope for the opponent. Tonight, Tucker hit 5-of-7 from deep while Trevor Ariza hit 4-of-7 and Eric Gordon added three treys of his own, also on seven attempts. Some nights it'll be these three, some nights it'll be some variation of them along with Ryan Anderson or Gerald Green. Either way, when Houston is chucking it from long range and hitting at a 40 percent clip like they did tonight, they're near impossible to defeat. The Rockets went 19-2 during the regular season when shooting 40 percent or better on 3-pointers.

    SF/PF, Houston Rockets

P.J. Tucker went to the locker room after hurting his left knee on a non-contact drive to the hoop on Monday but he said he plans on playing on Wednesday as the series moves back to Houston.

"I'm okay, a little sore, not great. He fell on my knee and I fell awkward. Get back, see the doc, see how it is”, Tucker said after the game. "I'll definitely be ready for (game) 5, no question." He’ll probably get an MRI today and it’s good to see him being confident about his availability on Wednesday but the Rockets will likely play it safe with their forward with Luc Mbah a Moute also sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

P.J. Tucker is back on the Rockets’ bench on Monday.

That was quick, this likely means that Tucker will be available to return.
