Quinndary Weatherspoon tied for the team lead in scoring with 19 points in Sunday's Summer League win, adding seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Weatherspoon went 6-of-14 from the field and 7-of-9 at the line, while fellow rookie Keldon Johnson got his 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a perfect 7-of-7 from the charity stripe. Weatherspoon was taken 49th overall and is a lonshot to carve out rotation minutes in San Antonio this season, but he looks like a guy to keep an eye on given San Antonio's track record of developing overlooked guards.

Quinndary Weatherspoon led the Spurs' draft picks with 13 points on Monday in a win over the Cavs in Summer League play.

Weatherspoon also had three rebounds, two assists and a three-pointer in his 21 minutes off the bench. Luka Samanic had the better overall game with 11 points in 22 minutes with seven boards, two assists, a steal, two blocks and a triple. They each turned the ball over four times. The other draft pick, Keldon Johnson, didn't fare quite as well, scoring just four points with two rebounds and a steal in 19 minutes. Of the three, Samanic appears to be the leading candidate to provide any meaningful fantasy value this coming season.

The Spurs have selected Mississippi State's Quinndary Weatherspoon with the 49th pick in the draft.

Weatherspoon made the All-SEC team in his senior season after averaging 18.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game with a TS% around 62. A career 37-percent shooter from deep, Weatherspoon showed improvement each year in college and the 22-year-old looks like a player that could provide quiet contributions as he eases his way into the league.
