Rudy Gay disappeared into the fantasy ether on Friday, playing just 15 minutes and was limited to four points on 2-of-6 shooting with four rebounds and one assist.

Gay is a drop, even in 18-teamers, given how steeply he's dropped over the last month. He's scored in double figures only twice in February and there doesn't appear to be a light at the end of this dark and dreary tunnel.

Rudy Gay was once again quiet on Tuesday with just three points (1-for-5 FGs including 1-for-1 from three), one rebound and one assist in 16 minutes vs. the Lakers.

Gay has been cooling off lately, and he's been in trade rumors as well. A deal might be good for him at this point, since his role and production have decreased in San Antonio. He can be left alone in 12-team leagues.

  • Marco Belinelli
    SG, San Antonio Spurs

According to reports, the Spurs are looking into trading Marco Belinelli, Rudy Gay, and DeMarre Carroll.

The asking price on Gay is said to be rather high, but it wouldn't be surprising to see Belinelli or Carroll in a different uniform soon. None of them have made a huge impact in fantasy this season.

Rudy Gay only logged six minutes on Saturday night against the Hornets.

Gay tallied five points and a triple. He's fallen quite a ways this season, and hopefully you cut the cord a long time ago in 12- or 14-team formats.

Rudy Gay (illness) took part in the Spurs' shootaround on Wednesday and should be available for their game against the Pelicans.

Gay had been listed as probable, so this isn't surprising. He has averaged 10.7 points and 5.8 rebounds this season.

Rudy Gay (illness) is being listed as probable for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans.

Gay looks to be ready to go after missing the past two games because of illness. Gay has been just inside the top-150 in 9/8 cat league on the year. Play him as you normally would.

Rudy Gay (illness) and DeMarre Carroll (illness) are being ruled out ahead of Monday's matchup with the Suns.

Trey Lyles and Jakob Poeltl are looking at extra minutes again in this one. Gay should be back in the lineup soon.

Rudy Gay (illness) will not play on Sunday afternoon.

Gay missed Friday's game as well, though the Spurs weren't exactly clear with their injury diagnosis. It's nice to know that Gay is only dealing with an illness, and deep-league GMs should expect him back in the lineup shortly.

Rudy Gay (rest/illness) is doubtful to play vs. the Heat on Sunday.

With Gay doubtful, there should be more lineups with Jakob Poeltl seeing time alongside LaMarcus Aldridge or Trey Lyles. Gay is still a hold for now.

Rudy Gay (assumed rest/illness) will not play on Friday night.

On the official injury report, the Spurs have simply listed Gay's illness/injury as a semi-colon, so we're going to take a stab at it and say he's either sick or getting the night off. Gay has been a late-round option this season and doesn't need to be rostered in 12-team leagues as the Spurs have dialed him back to just 22.5 mpg and his percentages have dipped.

  • Jakob Poeltl
    C, San Antonio Spurs

Jakob Poeltl had a solid game off the bench on Sunday, tallying four points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in 20 minutes.

Poeltl continues to play behind Trey Lyles for reasons unknown but he's been able to crank out late-round value because of his steady contributions in rebounds, blocks and field goal percentage. Rudy Gay also had a nice game with 15 points and a pair of triples in 20 minutes, and both players likely top out as low-end options in 12-team leagues. Right now neither is worth your time outside of the 14-16-team area but Poeltl's probably easier to assess because he's closer to specialist appeal.

  • Rudy Gay
    SF, San Antonio Spurs

Rudy Gay finished Friday's loss to the Grizzlies with 13 points (5-for-12 shooting), five rebounds, three triples and two assists across 26 minutes.

Gay was really the only Spurs player off the bench to get anything going, which probably explains why they lost. Gay continues to be a borderline fantasy asset.

    SF, San Antonio Spurs

Rudy Gay filled the box score on Saturday night, going for 16 points (6-of-9 shooting), seven rebounds, a steal, a block and four 3-pointers in just 20 minutes of action.

It's been a frustrating year for the most part but Gay has clambered up to top-135 standing on the season. He's a fine pickup for the time being if he's on your waiver wire, but there isn't much upside to be had with the veteran. Even so, Gay can help fantasy teams in a more moderate capacity when the going is good.

  • Rudy Gay
    SF, San Antonio Spurs

Rudy Gay played like it was 2014 on Thursday night as produced one of his best lines of the season with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting with four 3s, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in 26 minutes off the bench.

This was a vintage Gay game at its finest. They come fewer and farther between at this stage of his career but it's nice to see that the 12-year veteran still has a bit of gas left in the tank to deliver a fantastic line like this one.

Rudy Gay (illness) is available to play in Saturday's game versus the Clippers.

Gay is under the weather and has a tough defensive matchup on his plate tonight. His minutes will continue to be limited, hindering his fantasy value.
