Thaddeus Young started for Wendell Carter Jr. (sprained ankle) on Wednesday and was pretty good as he rose to the occasion with 18 points on 7-of-16 shooting.
Young, the oldest player on this Bulls club, was able to turn back the clock by adding three 3s, six rebounds, two assists and three steals to the box. Talk about Vintage Thad. He's worth grabbing in standard leagues while WCJ is out.

Lauri Markkanen (left ankle sprain) will play and start against the Pelicans on Wednesday.
Markkanen will start alongside Thaddeus Young on Wednesday as Wendell Carter Jr. had already been ruled out with an ankle injury. After a tough start to the season, Markkanen has produced 4th/2nd round value in 8/9-cat leagues over the past month.

Thaddeus Young is expected to make his first start with the Bulls on Wednesday.
With Wendell Carter Jr. out, the door is open for Young to slot into the starting lineup. Young has averaged 8.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.1 steal in only 21.8 minutes per game. Daniel Gafford should also see additional minutes while Carter cannot play.

Lauri Markkanen is listed as doubtful for Monday's contest with the Mavs after suffering a left ankle sprain on Saturday.
Not a good sign at this point. The injury did not seem too extreme at the moment on Saturday, but a doubtful tag would indicate that this could go beyond a game or two for Markkanen. This makes Thaddeus Young a logical stream for Monday and perhaps further into the week.

Lauri Markkanen received more testing after having to leave Saturday's game against the Celtics, and has now been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle.
His status for Chicago's next game on Monday is up in the air as we still don't have a timetable or the severity of the injury. Should he miss time Thaddeus Young would become a popular streaming option.

Lauri Markkanen scored 15 points (5-of-12) shooting in Saturday's loss to the Celtics but injured his leg in the fourth quarter, failing to return.
Markkanen got tangled up with the Celtics' Marcus Smart and appeared to injure his left foot. He was seen with the trainers stretching out his leg and it appeared that he was set to return in this close game. His injury status is worth keeping an eye on and if he has to miss any time teammate Thaddeus Young is the next man up.

Thaddeus Young scored 12 points (5-of-11) in Saturday's loss to the Celtics, chipping in two rebounds, three assists, one steal and a 3-pointer.
Young played 27 minutes off the bench in this one and saw an increase in minutes after a fourth quarter injury to teammate Lauri Markkanen. Young contributed nicely in this one register across all categories except for blocks. He will continue to provide late-round value and could provide a slight bump if Markkanen has to miss any time following his injury.

Lauri Markkanen limped off the court on Saturday after falling to the ground.
Markkanen got tangled with Marcus Smart and it appeared Smart landed on Markkanen's left foot. Thaddeus Young checked in for Markkanen and could produce late-round value if Markkanen misses time.

Jim Boylen said that Lauri Markkanen is expected to play on Monday despite his illness.
Markkanen's presence should take some minutes away from Thaddeus Young. In addition to his usual offensive contributions, Markkanen has six blocks over his last five appearances.

According to a report in the LA Times, the Clippers could be interested in acquiring Thaddeus Young via trade.
The author seems like he's spitballing here, but it makes sense for the Clippers to look to beef up their frontcourt. That said, you could replace "Thaddeus Young" here and include any other veteran SF/PF on the market, such as Marvin Williams, Bob Covington, Justise Winslow, etc. or they could look to sign someone like Jeff Green. The takeaway here is that the Clippers are set up to be buyers in the trade market, but it's entirely too early to know who they'll target. Young's value figures to remain unchanged should this trade go down.

Lauri Markkanen (illness) is being listed as questionable for Monday's game versus the Bucks.
Markkanen has been dealing with a bug for a few days now, but was able to suit up and play well during Saturday's game versus the Hawks. If Markkanen is unable to play expect Thaddeus Young to get some extended run.

December 17, 2019, 12:01 amDenzel ValentineSF, Chicago Bulls
Denzel Valentine, who started the season out of the rotation after missing the previous season, scored in double-digits for the sixth time in seven games in a loss on Monday.
Valentine finished with 10 points on 4-of-9 FGs, four rebounds, one steal and two 3-pointers in 15 minutes. Chandler Hutchison (right shoulder soreness) should be back before long and Otto Porter Jr. (left foot fracture) will eventually reclaim most of the small forward minutes, so Valentine's usefulness is temporary. Also helpful off the bench was Ryan Arcidiacono with 12 points on 5-of-6 FGs. On the detrimental side, Coby White and Thaddeus Young combined to shoot 2-of 11 for four points.

Thaddeus Young scored 17 points (7-of-12 from the floor) off the bench with three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers on Saturday.
Young has scored double digits in four of the last five games and has six steals and six threes over that stretch. Young is worth a look in 16-team leagues but is just a streamer for steals in standard-leagues.
December 11, 2019, 10:58 pmThaddeus YoungPF, Chicago Bulls
Thaddeus Young put together a nice game on Wednesday, finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three swipes in 33 minutes of action.
At this point, Young is best suited for steaming steals in standard leagues. His role will diminish more when the Bulls get Otto Porter Jr. back as well.

Thaddeus Young (personal) has been ruled out on Friday vs. the Warriors.
He's likely to only miss this game as he's set to meet with the Bulls in Miami for their matchup with the Heat on Sunday. The Bulls are already short-handed with Otto Porter Jr. also continuing to miss time, but good thing they're playing the Warriors where that shouldn't matter.
