Thon Maker

Fantasy News

  • Thon Maker - F - Detroit Pistons

Thon Maker received five stitches in his mouth but has returned to Monday's game against the Wizards.

Maker is one of two big men on Detroit's bench tonight with Jon Leuer inactive, so it's good to see him return to the court. He could be an interesting deep-league option given his ability to block shots and hit the occasional 3-pointer, but we don't imagine that he'll get enough playing time to deliver on that promise.

  • Thon Maker - F - Detroit Pistons

Thon Maker wound up with a bloody mouth for his troubles after an impressive defensive play in Monday's game vs. the Wizards.

Maker has not made much of a splash since joining the Pistons, but the sample size is not big enough yet. An injury and missed time will surely slow down his rise. Hopefully, the bleeding can be controlled by a few stitches.

  • Thon Maker - F - Detroit Pistons

Thon Maker played on eight minutes of garbage time in Friday's home win over the Cavs and had one rebound and one turnover while missing his only shot attempt.

Maker was reportedly unsatisfied with his playing time in Milwaukee but he'll have a hard time besting that as a reserve in Detroit. You can leave him on the wire.

  • Thon Maker - F - Detroit Pistons

Thon Maker and Svi Mykhailiuk are available to play on Friday vs. the Knicks though coach Dwane Casey isn’t committed to playing either one.

Well, that’s not exactly a vote of confidence from their new coach. Both can be left on waivers.

  • Thon Maker - F - Detroit Pistons

Thon Maker is expected to be traded to the Pistons in exchange for Stanley Johnson.

Maker recently requested a trade as he was buried in the Bucks’ rotation after the emergence of DJ Wilson. He will be landing in Detroit where he has a chance to earn rotation minutes in a weak frontcourt where Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin dominate the majority of the minutes. The Sudanese forward has struggled to show consistency but owners in deeper leagues should grab him in the event that the change of scenery helps him become a more reliable option.

  • Thon Maker - F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker has requested a trade from the Bucks in an effort to get more playing time, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Bucks still believe in Maker's potential but have been discussing deals that would be beneficial for both the team and Maker. Maker wants to go to a franchise that will give him the role and playing time to continue to grow. He has shown his talent during multiple stretches in his young career, and there's surely a team that would give him more playing time if the cost is right.

  • Thon Maker - F - Milwaukee Bucks

A productive version of Thon Maker made a rare appearance in Monday's 114-102 win over the Jazz with the big man delivering 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting and adding five rebounds, two 3-pointers, an assist and two steals.

A blue moon must have been out because Maker rarely is this fantasy-relevant. He's been ignorable in most leagues and this game where he's able to make some noise can be treated like a tree falling in the woods with no one there to hear it.

  • Ersan Ilyasova - F - Milwaukee Bucks

Ersan Ilyasova (nose contusion, mild concussion) will not play on Saturday against the Knicks.

Illyasova barely has top-200 value on the year so this should not be affecting too many fantasy teams. Thon Maker and Tony Snell look to be the beneficiaries while Par Connaughton may also get a few more minutes.

  • Thon Maker - F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker is off the injury report but will be inactive on Wednesday night.

D.J. Wilson is also a healthy inactive. The Bucks felt that both players missed too much practice time in camp, so even though they're healthy they'll need to work their way back into the rotation. It's a long fall for Maker, who has started playoff games for the Bucks — though that might say more about the team than him.

  • Thon Maker - F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker is not on the injury report ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Hornets.

The Bucks are completely healthy besides Trevon Duval (eye). Maker sat out multiple preseason games with left knee soreness but is going to be available for the opener, though he might not be in the rotation. Leave him on the wire.

  • Thon Maker - C/F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker (left knee soreness), D.J. Wilson (right hamstring soreness) and Trevon Duval (left eye injury) will miss Friday’s game with the Wolves.

Maker will miss another game due to his left knee though the Bucks are saying it’s a minor ailment with no long-tern concern. Maker hopes to play more minutes at power forward as Brook Lopez and John Henson (and maybe Christian Wood) look to soak up the center minutes. Maker probably won’t hold enough value to be rostered in standard leagues.

  • Thon Maker - C/F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker will not play in Sunday's preseason game.

Maker is on the injury report with a knee injury, though the Bucks are saying it's just a minor ailment and there's no long-term concern. After some intriguing numbers in brief stints as a rookie, Maker really fell off last season and isn't developing as hoped. He's only a dart throw in deep leagues.

  • Thon Maker - C/F - Milwaukee Bucks

Thon Maker said Wednesday he hopes to play more forward when asked about the Bucks signing Brook Lopez.

Maker seemed excited to have Lopez come in and knows they can have lineups with extreme length if they play together. Whether coach Mike Budenholzer will implement those lineups remains to be seen. Maker also spoke about his productive off-season at P3, with the Australian national team and with the Bucks. The minutes won't be there, without an injury to another big, to be a fantasy asset.
