The Magic have waived Timofey Mozgov.

Mozgov was entering the final year of his 4-year, $64 million deal. They will use the waive and stretch provision and pay him $5.6 million in each of the next three seasons but allows them for a little more flexibility this offseason. Mozgov did not play a single game last season so this move has no fantasy implications.

Timofey Mozgov was unable to play in the 2018-19 season.

Mozgov was at the very end of the rotation anyway and wouldn’t have played much, but he dislocated a finger on his right hand in training camp and then entered the year with right knee soreness that eventually required surgery.

Timofey Mozgov (right knee) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his sore right knee.

Mozgov has yet to play this season and he was never really on the fantasy radar. His season return is in question and will depend on he he responds to therapy.

Timofey Mozgov (dislocated finger on right hand) will not play in Monday's preseason matchup vs. Miami.

Mozgov probably won't serve a significant role in the Magic lineup anyway so take this with a grain of salt. He's not a factor in fantasy hoops.

Timofey Mozgov told a Russian media outlet that he doesn't know why he was benched last season and that he wants to continue his career for the Nets or another NBA team.

We might have a guess or two about the benching. It's a nice thought, but Mozgov simply can't keep up with most modern players and the Nets need to allocate all the playing time they can to Jarrett Allen. Mozzy might be able to improve his standing a bit with a strong showing for Russia in the World Cup Qualifiers but anything more than minimal backup minutes would be a shock. It'd be even more surprising to see another team trade for his contract. It looks like Brooklyn or bust for Mozgov, who might not get the change he desires one way or the other.

Timofey Mozgov will suit up for the Russian national team in the final two games of their World Cup qualifiers.

One of the most laughable moments last season came when it was reported that Mozgov's camp requested that the big man get some time off to rest as he was tired from the summer's international competition. 11.6 minutes a night across 31 games really takes it right out of you. The DNPs rolled right in and it was a situation that the Nets were happy to accommodate, as it allowed Jarrett Allen to blossom eventually. Don't expect to see much of Mozzy on the court for Brooklyn this year. He could make a difference for Russia in these next two games at least.

Timofey Mozgov got off the bench for nine minutes in Wednesday's season finale, finishing with a surprisingly productive line of seven points, six rebounds, three assists and a block.

Mozgov's camp asked for some added rest for him this year after he spent the summer playing with the Russian national squad. It was worth a chuckle but the Nets obliged, using him for just 31 games all season. The first player signed in that crazy summer of spending, Mozgov placed outside the top-375 this season.
