Tyler Johnson

Fantasy News

  • Tyler Johnson
    PG-SG, Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson (leg) went back to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Friday's game.

The odds are against Johnson returning though that's more a factor of time than his health. Either way, the veteran hasn't been a fantasy factor in quite some time. If he can't return his night will end with nine points, two steals, a block and a 3-pointer in 15 minutes.

  • Elie Okobo
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Elie Okobo drew the start for Ricky Rubio on Tuesday, coming away with three rebounds, three assists and an 0-for-4 shooting line in 22 minutes.

Rubio is away for the birth of his child and might miss a little more time, but this should be all you need to tell that Okobo is only a dart throw and shouldn't be expected to return more than assists for deep-league GMs. Tyler Johnson had four points on 1-of-7 shooting in 15 minutes while Jevon Carter played only six minutes. Avoid this mess.

  • Elie Okobo
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Elie Okobo started on Saturday and scored 17 points with four rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes.

Okobo got the start with Ricky Rubio (illness) sidelined. If Rubio misses the next game on Monday, Okobo could be worth streaming as he saw more minutes than both Ty Jerome (15 points in 22 minutes) and Tyler Johnson (three points in 15 minutes). Okobo should return to the waiver wire once Rubio returns.

  • Tyler Johnson
    PG-SG, Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson (illness) will play on Friday against the Thunder.

Well he'll be available — he may not play, as he's been in and out of the rotation of late. A former top-120 player, Johnson's really fallen off the map over the last couple of years.

    PG-SG, Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson (illness) is probable to take on the Thunder on Friday.

Johnson has seen more minutes as of late with the injury to Devin Booker (forearm). He will continue to be a part of the rotation but will lose several minutes if Booker, who is currently questionable, returns on Friday. He can be viewed as a low-end 3-and-D specialist who can produce fringe standard league value when he sees 30-plus minutes a night.

Tyler Johnson (illness) won't play vs. the Clippers on Tuesday.

Johnson has hardly played lately, so his absence only means that the other backup guards will continue to get extra minutes, especially with Devin Booker (right forearm contusion) and Cameron Johnson (left hip soreness) out.

Tyler Johnson (illness) is being listed as questionable to play against the Clippers on Tuesday.

Johnson would be looking at a few extra minutes in the backcourt on Tuesday if he can play with Devin Booker (questionable) also potentially unavailable. He doesn't carry much weight in fantasy circles.

  • Devin Booker
    SG, Phoenix Suns

Devin Booker (forearm contusion) will not play on Monday vs. the Blazers.

Booker and Tyler Johnson (illness) will both miss this game, while Mikal Bridges will start and should see enough action to put up some useful numbers.

  • Tyler Johnson
    PG-SG, Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson is considered doubtful for Monday's game due to illness.

Johnson is not doing much to merit ownership in fantasy since Ricky Rubio returned. Elie Okobo is likely to help fill the void.

  • Ricky Rubio
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Ricky Rubio (left hand) is being listed as questionable for Wednesday's matchup with the Magic.

Rubio must have picked up the injury sometime during Monday's come-from-behind victory over the Hornets. If Rubio can't go, Tyler Johnson may get the start with Jevon Carter seeing extra minutes behind him.

  • Ricky Rubio
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Ricky Rubio (back spasms) will be available to play on Wednesday.

Rubio practiced on Tuesday, so this is not a stunning development. Nevertheless, it's a blow to Tyler Johnson's fantasy value. Rubio is dishing out the assists as usual but has also averaged 5.8 rebounds in the early going.

    PG, Phoenix Suns

Ricky Rubio (back spasms) practiced on Tuesday and is planning to play against the Wizards on Wednesday as long as his back feels good when he wakes up in the morning.

Rubio has played just 16 minutes in the past five games as he tried to play through the back injury but wasn't ready. Rubio's return would send Tyler Johnson and company back to the bench with a handful of minutes. Rubio has put up top 74/66 per game value in 9/8 cat leagues through the season's first month with averages of 12.5 points, 8.1 assists, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.1 threes per game.

  • Ricky Rubio
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Ricky Rubio (back spasms) has been ruled out of Sunday's game versus the Nuggets.

Tyler Johnson has averaged 30 minutes over the last two games that Rubio has missed and should be in line for another start. He won't garner heavy usage, but he's worth a look in DFS for value.

    PG-SG, Phoenix Suns

Tyler Johnson managed just seven points on 2-of-10 shooting (including a three) with four rebounds, three assists and one block in a 31-minute start on Saturday against the Wolves.

Johnson has turned into a classic wack fantasy guy, avoiding statistical production for the most part, but reminding us of past versions with the occasional versatile outburst. If you've been streaming him because of the Suns' five-game week you can punt him away at any time.

  • Ricky Rubio
    PG, Phoenix Suns

Ricky Rubio (back spasms) has been ruled out of Saturday's game versus the Timberwolves.

This will be the second straight game Rubio is sitting out. Tyler Johnson drew the start in place of Rubio in the last one and is expected to again against the Timberwolves. Consider Rubio day-to-day going forward.
