Shams Charania reported that Tyreke Evans has been ‘dismissed and disqualified from the league for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.’

Being dismissed and disqualified for a ‘drug of abuse’ implies very serious substance abuse, though specific details are sparse at this point. Evans had a down year and reportedly dealt with chronic tardiness though we’re not sure if that’s a direct result of whatever he seems to be dealing with. Further information is likely to follow but we hope Evans can get a grip on whatever substance issues he’s facing. He can apply for reinstatement in two years.

Veteran swingman Tyreke Evans said that he will consider re-signing with the Pacers in free agency this summer, despite the fact that the season didn’t meet his expectations.

“The playing situation was just a little different,” Evans said. “Not how I expected it to be. I feel like I was forcing a lot when I came in.” Evans will turn 30 in September and he was hampered by knee pain throughout the season, averaging 10.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 68 games. He increased those averages to 15.3 points and 4.5 rebounds during the Pacers’ first-round loss to the Celtics. Overall, it was a bad fantasy year for Evans as he failed to crack the top-250 and a change of scenery might help him resurrect his career.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans scored 19 points in 21 minutes off the bench including four three-pointers in Friday's loss to the Celtics.

Evans was on fire going 6-for-10 from the field and 4-for-6 from three. He was a big part in the Pacers jumping out to a halftime lead, but wasn't able to will them to the win.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans played well off the bench in Wednesday's loss to the Celtics, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds, three 3-pointers and a steal in 19 minutes.

The Pacers are running out of options with the potential of a sweep looming. Scoring has been very difficult to come by for Indy's reserves, so they're going to hope that this positive outing by Evans can carry over to a pivotal Game 3.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans will be sporting a kneepad on his right knee during the postseason.

Evans struggled this year and dealt with persistent right knee soreness, twice undergoing PRP injections and having fluid drained multiple times. His playmaking and secondary scoring will be necessary if Indiana is to pull off a first-round upset, so the Pacers are hoping that Evans' knee can hold up without further treatment.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans started and went off against the Hawks in Wednesday's season finale, finishing with 27 points (9-of-14 from the field) to go with five assists and five 3-pointers.

This good game aside, there is no positive way to frame the type of year Evans had following his successful stint with the Grizzlies from a season earlier. Evans fell well outside the top-300 in standard leagues, making him among the worst players in fantasy this season relative to ADP (102 in 9-cat, 122 in 8-cat). Needless to say, he was not a good fit in Indy and it’s highly unlikely that he'll be signing a new deal there next year. Regardless of where he lands, he shouldn't be targeted in drafts next season.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans scored 12 points with seven rebounds and a 3-pointer on Friday night.

Evans saw a few extra minutes in this one with Darren Collison sitting out and Cory Joseph moving to the starting lineup. It hasn't been a good season for Evans but he could be of use for these final games if Collison rests again.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans faceplanted in his fill-in start for Wes Matthews on Wednesday putting up six points on 1-of-13 from the field and 0-of-4 from three.

Evans added four rebounds, a steal and a single assist in his 28 minutes on the floor. The Pacers were without both Matthews and Darren Collison tonight in an enticing matchup against the Pistons, but Evans was flat all night. Aaron Holiday and Cory Joseph were much better in this one and the Pacers were +16 and +18 respectively with those two on the court. Evans can be left on the wire as both Collison and Matthews will be back soon, while Holiday could eventually steal more bench minutes from him.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans drained four threes en route to 13 points in a start on Monday night against the Pistons.

Darren Collison and Wesley Matthew were both out, so Tyreke played 27 minutes in which he also accumulated three rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Cory Joseph, however, put up just four points, three assists, two steals and a rebound in his 31 minutes as a starter. Unless both starting guards are out again, you can leave Evans and Joseph on the wire.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans (bruised right knee) will start on Monday night against the Pistons.

That was the word this morning before Evans popped up on the injury report as questionable, but he's good to go. He put up some solid lines during Darren Collison's last absence and is worth a look tonight in the hopes that the trend continues.

Tyreke Evans (knee) is being listed as questionable vs. the Pistons on Monday.

This comes out of nowhere as Evans was declared the starter on Monday morning. The Pacers are already pretty short-handed and could really use Evans' help vs. Detroit. Stay tuned for updates closer to tip-off.

Tyreke Evans will start on Monday vs. the Pistons.

Both Darren Collison (groin) and Wesley Matthews (hamstring) are out so Evans will be starting next to Corey Joseph. Evans has been outside of the top-300 for the past two weeks and only playing 21.9 minutes so maybe this is what he'll need to wake him up.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans was limited to seven points, two rebounds, five assists and a steal on 3-of-9 shooting in Wednesday's loss to the Thunder.

Darren Collison returned from a three-game absence and Evans logged just 20 minutes. He had a short stretch of relevance but can be returned to the wire in all but the deepest of formats.

  • Tyreke Evans - G - Indiana Pacers

Tyreke Evans scored 20 points on 8-of-17 shooting to go with five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a 3-pointer in Thursday's game against the Warriors.

Evans played 29 minutes tonight which is partly due to Darren Collison (right quad contusion) sitting and the fact that the Pacers' starting unit was dry on offense. He's still too volatile to trust in standard leagues.

  • Cory Joseph - G - Indiana Pacers

Cory Joseph claimed four steals and had five points, four assists and one 3-pointer over 20 minutes in a start on Tuesday.

Joseph took over for Darren Collison (right quad contusion) tonight and it went about how it usually goes for CoJo: underwhelmingly. Tyreke Evans was the ball-handler that came up big as he went for 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 29 minutes.
