Udonis Haslem has re-signed with the Heat for his 17th season.

Haslem will once again be a veteran presence off the bench for the Heat, in what is likely to be his final year of professional basketball. He is no longer a fantasy contributor at this point in his career.

Though Udonis Haslem has not conveyed a final decision, the expectation inside the Heat organization is that the veteran forward will return for a 17th season with the team.

That expectation of a Haslem return is a major reason why Miami waived Yante Maten last week instead of guaranteeing him another $50,000. If Haslem surprisingly doesn’t accept an invitation to return, the Heat would look at adding one more veteran. Regardless, Haslem’s days as a fantasy contributor are long gone.

Udonis Haslem said that he has discussed to his wife and kids, parents and others about his complicated retirement decision for the upcoming 2019-2020 season, and will take his time.

Haslem will turn 39 in June and has played his entire 16-year career for the Miami Heat winning three championships. Haslem's decision will ultimately come down to what's best for him and his family.

Udonis Haslem has told the media that he will need time to decide whether or not to retire after 16 seasons, all with the Heat.

Haslem has had a wonderful career as a lifelong member of the Miami Heat. He has helped them win three championships and may move on to the next phase of his life after basketball.

Udonis Haslem double-doubled with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 30 minutes in what was likely his final game on Wednesday night.

Haslem had only played 45 minutes this season prior to tonight's 30, so he wasn't on anyone's radar. It's been quite a career for the 3-time NBA champion.

Udonis Haslem will start in what could potentially be the final game of his NBA career.

The Last Dance part two is on full display tonight, and Haslem will get the start he very much deserves. It's hard to call him a DFS play, because it's unclear how much long he'll actually be able to stay out there.

Eric Spoelstra on Sunday said that he'd like to see Udonis Haslem return for next season.

Haslem has said that he's planning on retiring by season's end, but Speolstra still sees value in keeping him around. Regardless of whether he returns or not the 15 year vet isn't a fantasy factor.

Udonis Haslem, who resigned with the Heat on a one-year deal this past summer, will retire after the end of the season.

At age 38, Haslem is the fourth oldest player in the league behind Vince Carter (41), Dirk Nowitzki (40) and Jamal Crawford (who is a few months older than Haslem). He has kept himself in tremendous shape but has only played in three games, averaging a career-low 4.7 minutes per game.

Udonis Haslem (illness) will not play on Friday.

The aged Haslem has only played in three games this season so he was likely not going to play anyway.

Udonis Haslem checked into his third game of the season on Saturday, picking up two points and four rebounds in eight minutes.

Haslem had to check in with Miami down to eight active bodies after the first quarter. He's not a fantasy option, obviously.

Fantasy owners can move on, even with the Heat looking potentially shorthanded this week.

Udonis Haslem said that whether or not he keeps playing will be a "year-to-year" decision.

Haslem said earlier today that this would be his final season, but apparently that was just for laughs. He won't play much.

Udonis Haslem said that this will be his final season.

Haslem made some noise this summer about still having a lot to give and wanting to play rather than sit on the bench all year, but he ended up back in Miami where he'll sit on the bench all year in his final NBA campaign. The Heat will say goodbye to a pair of franchise pillars in Haslem and Dwyane Wade this season.
