Yante Maten

  • Yante Maten
    PF, Miami Heat

The Heat have waived Yante Maten.

The Heat waive Maten after he played in the team's final two games of the season after a strong year for their G-League team in 2018-19. This move saves the Heat some cap room as August 1st was the deadline for an increase in pay for the forward. He will find a team to play with professionally on some level but can be ignored from a fantasy perspective.

  • Kendrick Nunn
    PG, Miami Heat

Kendrick Nunn led the Heat in scoring for the second straight day at the California Classic, putting up 21 points on Wednesday.

Nunn went 6-of-15 from the field with three 3-pointers as well as three assists and two steals. The Heat look unlikely to have backcourt minutes available but Nunn has an established track record as a scorer, so perhaps he can find a niche role as a microwave type. Yante Maten had his second straight solid game as well with 16 points, eight rebounds, two steals, a block and a triple.

  • Yante Maten
    PF, Miami Heat

Yante Maten had 21 points (11-for-13 FTs) and 9 boards on Monday in Summer League Action.

After going undrafted last summer, Maten was a two-way Heat player that averaged 23.5 points per game for the G-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce. It's a long shot, but Maten certainly wouldn't be the first G-League player to crack the Heat's rotation.

  • Yante Maten
    F, Miami Heat

Yante Maten played 12 minutes in his second career game on Wednesday, getting two poins, two boards and a steal.

Maten played his only other NBA minute on Tuesday. We're going to need to see some more to warrant fantasy attention next season.

  • Yante Maten
    F, Miami Heat

Yante Maten has been signed to a multi-year contract.

Maten has distinguished himself as a guy worth keeping around as the Heat plot their future. He's not expected to crack the rotation this season though as Miami needs all hand on deck to try and make the postseason.

  • Yante Maten
    F, Miami Heat

Yante Maten was sent to the G-League on Friday.

Maten earned an NBA roster spot with a strong Summer League campaign. He wasn't on fantasy radars as a back of the bench option and this is just a standard roster move to clear space on the active squad.

  • Rodney McGruder
    G/F, Miami Heat

Rodney McGruder scored 15 points (two 3s) and added five boards, three assists and steal in Friday’s road loss to the Wizards.

McGruder is one of coach Spo’s favorite guys for his hustle and grit and he seems to have Spo’s trust going forward. Still, once everyone is back healthy for Miami, there’s just not enough usage to own him in standard leagues. Yante Maten had 17 points (two 3s) off the bench in 27 minutes for the banged up Heat.

  • Yante Maten
    F, Miami Heat

The Heat have agreed to terms on a two-way contract with forward Yante Maten.

Maten averaged 10.7 points and 5.6 rebounds while shooting 44.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from three-point range. He earned a spot on the Heat NBA roster through his solid play throughout the Summer League. However, he has no real fantasy value for the upcoming season.

  • Yante Maten
    F, Miami Heat

The Heat will have Yante Maten, a forward out of Georgia, on their Summer League roster.

Maten capped off a great Bulldogs career by being named the SEC's Player of the Year last season and was pretty active on the pre-draft circuit, lining up meetings with 14 teams and having 21 in attendance at his pro day. He's in Georgia's all-time top-10 in a number of stats, including points, rebounds and blocks and led all players in the bench press at the combine. His length and versatility stand out and he has enough raw tools and resume accomplishments to have a real shot at climbing his way up the NBA ladder in time.
