Hey Hoop-Ballers! Welcome to the second installment of what will be a comprehensive dynasty-focused look across the league at stash-worthy players in all league sizes that warrant keeping an eye on throughout the off-season. Regardless…
July 24, 2019, 3:45 pmFurkan KorkmazSG, Philadelphia Sixers
The Sixers have brought back Furkan Korkmaz on a two-year minimum contract.
There were rumors that Korkmaz would head overseas after failing to make a positive impact in the postseason for the Sixers. However, at just 21 years old, he will continue to grow with the Sixers. There will be minutes off of the bench to be had if Korkmaz can beat out the likes of Zhaire Smith, Shake Milton and James Ennis.

Zhaire Smith had another nice Summer League game on Monday as he put up 18 points (8-of-19 FGs), five rebounds, three assists, two steals and a 3-pointer in 34 minutes in an 84-81 overtime loss to the Thunder.
Smith is off to a great start in Summer League and hopefully, he's finally fully healthy. He has loads of potential, but he happens to be on a loaded contender, making it tough for him to get enough minutes to matter this year in standard fantasy leagues.
July 6, 2019, 10:57 pmZhaire SmithSG, Philadelphia Sixers
Zhaire Smith notched 14 points on 4-of-9 shooting, adding four boards, two treys, one assist and one steal in 24 minutes on Saturday vs. the Celtics in Summer League.
Smith's rookie season was marred by a foot injury that eventually required surgery that sidelined him for much of 2018-19. To add injury to more injury, the rookie also experienced a strong allergic reaction to something he ate after he recovered from surgery. Yes, it was a rough season for sure. Smith has the makings of a talented scorer but will need to take his baby steps now, during his sophomore season. Keep an eye on him in the preseason.
April 11, 2019, 12:14 amZhaire SmithG, Philadelphia Sixers
Zhaire Smith scored 17 points with five rebounds, four assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes of action in Wednesday's season finale victory over the Bulls.
Zhaire Smith started his career the way you would expect a Sixers rookie to in 2018-19, with broken foot and sesame allergy that caused him to lose 20 pounds and undergo a procedure. It was unclear if Smith would be able to return for the regular season, but, all of a sudden, he's logged 31 minutes per game over the past two nights and might be able to contribute in the playoffs. Given his situation though, it's not surprising that he'll finish the season as a top-300/350 player in 8/9-cat formats.
March 25, 2019, 9:25 pmZhaire SmithG, Philadelphia Sixers
Zhaire Smith made his NBA debut on Monday vs. the Magic, hitting a 3-pointer with one rebound and a steal in six minutes.
Smith got into the game due to some 4th-quarter garbage time. It's great to see him out there. Hopefully he can build up some confidence going into the offseason after missing the majority of his rookie season.
March 12, 2019, 5:02 pmZhaire SmithG, Philadelphia Sixers
Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) has been recalled from the G-League and will be available to make his NBA debut on Tuesday against the Cavs.
A few weeks back Brett Brown said that Smith probably wouldn't be playing this season, but he's since made his G-League debut and it looks like he'll be there if the Sixers change their minds. He's not a fantasy option this season but it's great to see Smith's recovery complete.

Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) is scheduled to play for Blue Coats on Friday.
If everything continues to go as scheduled, Smith will be making his professional debut this Friday vs. the Red Claws of the G-Legue. Brett Brown stated last week that Smith would not play this season, so we might not see him in a Sixers uniform until next year, but this is a huge step in the right direction for the first-round pick.

Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) will not be playing this season according to Brett Brown.
Smith infamously joins the recent 76ers first-round picks who missed the entire season due to injury. He'll be able to work on getting back to shape in the G-league since Philadelphia doesn't need him for now. He shouldn't be on any roster this year his appeal is only limited to dynasty leagues.

February 20, 2019, 5:26 pmZhaire SmithG, Philadelphia Sixers
Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) was able to go "about 60 percent" in Wednesday's practice with the Sixers.
The last update on Smith was him heading to the G-League for some non-contact practices, so this is another nice step in his recovery. The Sixers are very thin on the wings and just lost Furkan Korkmaz indefinitely because of a torn meniscus, so while it's highly unlikely that Smith sees meaningful minutes it does look like he'll be able to return by the end of the season. His appeal is limited to the deepest of redraft leagues and dynasty formats.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) has finally started his return by being assigned to the Delaware 87ers and will participate in non-contact practice with the team.
Smith underwent a thoracoscopy back at the end of September so it's nice to see some progress after two months of no significant news regarding his recovery. If you're part of a dynasty league, feel free to snag him. Other than that, he shouldn't be in any roster this year.

November 21, 2018, 3:16 pmZhaire SmithG, Philadelphia Sixers
According to a report from The Ringer, Zhaire Smith has lost upwards of 20 pounds as a result of an allergic reaction to sesame and may not be able to play this season.
Yes, Zhaire Smith's previously-undiagnosed sesame allergy may end up costing him his entire season. The Sixers announced that Smith underwent a thoracoscopy back at the end of September to address an issue that resulted from an allergic reaction. Apparently the team knew about his peanut allergy, but neither they nor Smith knew about his sesame allergy. Such weight loss would be significant for a guy who was only checking in at 199 pounds, and he was already scheduled to sit out until the end of 2018 as a result of his offseason foot surgery. Smith has no re-draft value and yet another weird medical situation in Philadelphia might cloud his dynasty stock a bit, as well.

Rookie Zhaire Smith (foot surgery, thoracoscopy) might miss the whole 2018 calendar year according to Philly reporter Kyle Neubeck.
Smith recently underwent a thoracoscopy to address an allergic reaction he was having and that might have delayed his rehab from foot surgery. We wish young Zhaire a speedy recovery but he is too raw to have much fantasy impact this year.

Zhaire Smith has undergone a thoracoscopy to address an issue that stemmed from an allergic reaction.
Smith has already been on the shelf after undergoing foot surgery back in August to address an acute Jones fracture of the fifth metatarsal bone. The thoracosopy surgery should not delay Smith's ultimate timetable from his foot surgery, His current timetable is mid-late December, but as we have seen in the past Jones fractures could be extremely tricky and could take much longer to heal.
