The Pelicans had a lot go right this summer, and it's all going to be built on the shoulders of Zion Williamson.

The Pelicans' rookies continued their impressive preseasons in Sunday's road win over the Spurs, with Zion Williamson leading the way in a 22-point, 10-rebound effort.
Williamson went 8-for-11 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line while adding two steals in 31 minutes. He's done a lot to justify the massive hype around him and he's likely going to cost you a second or third-round pick in most fantasy leagues. Fellow rookie Nickeil Alexander-Walker had another strong game with 13 points, five rebounds, seven assists, a steal, a block and two triples, but we'd take that with a grain of salt since J.J. Redick was resting. NAW is more of a dart throw in deep leagues and a fun dynasty target this season. Nicolo Melli, in line for stretch four work, chipped in 14 points, nine rebounds, a steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers off the bench. The Pelicans should be tons of fun this season.

Zion Williamson scored 26 points and added five rebounds, one assist and one three in Friday's win over the Jazz.
A game after missing only one shot, Williamson went 9-for-12 from the field and even added a three-point make. Expectations are rightfully high for the rookie and he seems to be more than capable of the expectations.

Zion Williamson dominated against the Bulls on Wednesday, scoring 29 points with four rebounds and four assists.
Williamson shot 12-of-13 from the field and 5-of-8 from the line in 26 minutes. Williamson looked dominant in this game and displayed the elite efficiency that many were expecting. His ADP will start to rise with his performance so far this preseason. However, Williamson looks like he will return early-round value this season and will be worth the price tag.

Zion Williamson stuffed the stat sheet on Monday vs. the Hawks with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds, three assists and four steals.
It didn't take long for Williamson to throw down a highlight dunk in the first quarter in what looks to be a season filled with them. Williamson is as good as advertised and the rebounding and steal rates look like they'll translate well from college. The explosiveness is there and he'll have a high floor as an efficient scorer and rebounder on a high-octane Pelicans offense. He comes with a pretty hefty ADP, but he shouldn't have much trouble returning that value.

Zion Williamson looked to have his usual explosiveness while throwing down a dunk on Saturday.
Williamson electrified a crowd in Harlem with a through-the-legs dunk. He was held out of Summer League with a left knee bruise but it did not appear to bother him on this dunk. Williamson looks to have a big role on the Pelicans and with his talent he could produce early-round value this season.

According to head coach Alvin Gentry, the Pelicans should lead the NBA in pace next season or he will be "very disappointed."
He pointed out Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram and Derrick Favors as rebounders that can push the ball in a Draymond Green-esque manner. Gentry said that the teams that run that style of offense have at least one big man that can push the ball up the floor, and he believes that they have multiple guys like that. The Pelicans are seemingly going to shift to a "seven seconds or less" offense if Gentry stays true to his word, which could benefit the fantasy value of all rotational pieces on the roster.

Pelicans' executive David Griffin stated that Zion Williamson is still getting taller.
One of Williamson's biggest criticisms is his weight and how it might hamper his ability on the court. However, Griffin doesn't seem to be worried, stating that "We’re not exactly sure what he’ll look like in the end. So a playing weight is not what you look for." If everything goes well than Zion could end up being one of the best players of the generation, but everyone already knew that.

Zion Williamson (left knee bruise) is still expected to play for the Select Team at Team USA training camp, per David Griffin.
The Pels ruled Williamson out for the rest of Summer League after he took a shot to the knee 11 minutes into his debut, but it's simply precautionary. New Orleans planning on using his Vegas stint as a ramp-up and simply wanted to help him get his conditioning up before working with Team USA. There's no need to fret for fantasy purposes.

Zion Williamson (bruised left knee) will miss the remainder of the Las Vegas Summer League.
The Pelicans are being very cautious with the new face of their franchise. Williamson suffered a knee-to-knee collision in the Pels' Summer League opener on Friday night and missed the entire second half. It's likely nothing too serious, but Summer League isn't worth risking his health.

Marc Berman is reporting that coach Alvin Gentry did not rule out shutting down Zion Wiliamson for the remainder of summer league.
Zion was ruled out of the remainder of the Pelicans opener after a knee-to-knee collision and Gentry said that he also has a sore back. The Pelicans are obviously going to be as careful as possible with their prized rookie. Before the injury, Zion showed off some highlight reel dunks during warmups and was able to embarrass Kevin Knox on a particular play.

The Pelicans official Twitter account announced that Zion Williamson injured his left knee in a "knee-to-knee" hit and won't return to Friday's game against the Knicks.
This news comes as a massive disappointment, especially because Williamson was productive in his nine minutes with 11 points, three rebounds and one steal. Hopefully the Pelicans are just being safe with their prized rookie.
